Bowdoin, Bates, Amherst, and Williams were victorious in the quarterfinal round of the 2026 NESCAC Women’s Basketball Championship. Top-seeded Bowdoin will host the remaining rounds of the tournament on February 28 and March 1 at Morrell Gymnasium in Brunswick, Maine
The Polar Bears, a 73-56 winner over No. 8 Tufts, will face No. 5 Williams. The Ephs used a strong second half to defeat No. 4 Trinity, 75-55, on the Bantams’ home floor. No. 2 Bates will meet No. 3 Amherst in the other semifinal. The Bobcats used a furiuos comeback effort to pull out a 67-64 overtime win against No. 7 Hamilton while Amherst cruised to a 77-55 win over No. 6 Conn. College.
No. 1 Bowdoin (23-1) def. No. 8 Tufts (13-12), 73-56 | Box Score
Grace Kinum and Abbie Quinn each scored 19 points to lead Bowdoin past Tufts, 73-56, at Morrell Gymnasium. Bowdoin scored the game's first eight points and never relinquished the lead. Kinum scored 10 of her 19 points in the opening quarter as Bowdoin raced to a 23-15 lead after one. She finished 7-of-13 from the field and converted all five of her free throw attempts. Bowdoin shot 46.6 percent from the field, including sinking nine 3-pointers, and converted 14 Jumbo turnovers into 21 points. Tufts was led by Stella Galanes with 14 points off the bench and Tessa Lozner added 13 points. Bowdoin, which extended its win streak to 15 games, outrebounded Tufts 35-26 and held a 16-5 advantage in second-chance points. Bowdoin, the two-time defending NESCAC Champions, will host the remaining rounds of the NESCAC Tournament for the third year in a row and advance to the semifinals for the 23

For the second year in a row, the No. 2 versus No. 7 quarterfinal matchup in the NESCAC Women’s Basketball Championship was decided in overtime. Bates’ Sarah Hughes scored 23 points and the Bobcats never trailed in overtime en route to a 67-64 victory over Hamilton at Alumni Gym. Hughes, who finished 10-of-18 from the field, helped the Bobcats overcome a 20-point first-half deficit. Daulerio added 12 points and hauled in nine rebounds, while Sophie Spolter contributed 17 points and three steals. Upset-minded Hamilton raced out to a 32-12 lead midway through the second quarter, but Bates outscored the Continentals 24-13 in the third quarter to cut the deficit to nine, and continued the rally through the fourth frame to force overtime. Erica Hills led Hamilton with 19 points while Kendall Harris added 16, including a three-pointer with 2:18 left in regulation that gave the Continentals a 56-53 advantage. Taylor Lambo grabbed 11 rebounds and dished six assists. Bates tied the game on a Daulerio layup with three seconds remaining in regulation, then seized control in overtime. Hughes scored five points in the extra session, capped by a free throw that pushed the lead to 67-64 with 10 seconds left. The Bobcats' comeback was fueled by converting 20 Hamilton turnovers (10 in the final two quarters) into points, 67 points. The Bobcats reach the semifinals for the third time in five years.
No. 3 Amherst (18-7) def. No. 6 Conn. College (14-10), 77-55 | Box Score
Elizabeth Cain came off the bench to score 15 points and Reagan Pahl added 14 points as Amherst pulled away from Connecticut College, 77-55, at LeFrak Gymnasium. Amherst never trailed, building a lead that ballooned to as many as 27 points in the fourth quarter. The Mammoths shot 72.7 percent from the field to outscore the Camels 19-9 in the second quarter to take a 35-18 halftime advantage. Anna Tranum contributed 11 points off the bench, contributing to Amherst’s 31 bench points in the game. Chase Anderson pulled down a game-high nine rebounds to go along with 12 points, while Laura Mendell distributed a team-leading six. Annie McCarthy added 10 points and three steals for Amherst held a 41-30 rebounding advantage and converted 15 points off Connecticut College turnovers. The Camels were led by Mia Xerras and Sofia Tavarez, who each finished with 13 points. The Mammoths are making back-to-back trips to the semifinals and their third appearance in five years.

Logan Coster scored 21 points and Micah Walton added 19 as Williams pulled away from Trinity in the second half to claim a 75-55 victory at Oosting Gymnasium. With the score tied, 33-33, at the break, the Ephs outscored the Bantams 23-12 in the third period, to take a lead they would not relinquish. Coster shot 8-of-18 from the field with three 3-pointers and three assists. Walton complemented her with an 8-of-17 performance, while Kathleen Smith contributed a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. The Ephs limited Trinity to 31.7 percent shooting from the field and just two 3-pointers. Avery Marzo led all Trinity scorers with 14 points, while Kiki Fossbender came off the bench to score 12. Marlo Simms posted 13 rebounds to go with eight points. After the teams played to a 33-33 tie at halftime, Williams opened the third quarter on a 6-0 run to take the lead for good. The Ephs' advantage swelled to as many as 22 points in the final minutes. Williams returns to the semifinals for the first time since 2023.
