NESCAC Player of the Week
Sarah Hughes – Bates – Jr. – G – Rumson, N.J.
Hughes started her week with 10 points, five rebounds, a game-high five assists, and a game-high three steals in a 69-49 win over Trinity on Friday. The junior followed up with a season-high 19 points on 8-for-12 shooting in Sunday's win over Wesleyan. Hughes scored 10 of her 19 points in the fourth quarter, including hitting the eventual game-winning shot from the baseline with 37 seconds remaining and made two free throws to ice the 65-61 win over the Cardinals. With the pair of victories, the 2025-26 Bobcats become the seventh team in Bates women's basketball history to reach the 20-win mark in a season.
NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst –
Brielle Renwick (Norwalk, Conn.) scored a career-high 21 points in a win over Conn. College on Saturday, posting her first double-double of the season as she added 13 rebounds. Renwick shot 9-for-11 (81.8%) from the floor and added two assists, two blocks, and three steals in the victory. The junior averaged 10.5 points per game in a 1-1 week for the Mammoths.
Bowdoin –
Grace Kinum (New Providence, N.J.) helped the Polar Bears go 3-0 last week with three road wins and remain unbeaten in NESCAC play heading into the final weekend of conference action. Kinum recorded a double-double at Middlebury on Friday, filling the stat sheet with 11 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, two steals, and a block. The sophomore matched her career high on Saturday at Williams, scoring 26 points with six rebounds as Bowdoin rallied from a third-quarter deficit to win. Kinum also scored 16 points with five assists in 23 minutes of a midweek win at Maine Maritime. For the week, Kinum averaged 17.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and shot 61 percent from the field.
Colby –
Lydia Mordarski (Mansfield, Mass.) led Colby to a 2-1 week, scoring double-digits in each contest. The senior tallied 11 in a midweek victory over the University of Maine-Farmington as Colby delivered the Beavers just their sixth loss of the season. In Friday's victory at Williams, Mordarski netted a season-high 22 points and followed up with 15 in a four-point setback at Middlebury on Saturday.
Conn. College –
Mia Xerras (Charlotte, N.C.) averaged a team-high 16.0 points per game last week as the Camels split games in NESCAC play. The junior shot 5-for-10 from the floor and finished with 18 points in a 75-68 win over Hamilton, helping to secure Conn. College’s fourth conference victory of the season. Xerras also netted a team-high 14 points in a setback against Amherst. Xerras, who shot 7-for-13 from long range for the week, currently leads the NESCAC in 3-point field goals (51).
Hamilton –
Kendall Harris (Chapel Hill, N.C.) averaged 16.5 points and shot 70 percent (14-of-20) from the field in two road games for the Continentals. Harris scored a team-high 22 points on 9-of-10 shooting, including 3-of-4 from 3-point range, and passed out four assists in an 81-64 win at Tufts. The junior dropped in 11 points, including the 1,000th of her career, in a 75-68 setback at Connecticut College.
Middlebury –
Islay Moore (Cavan, Ontario) totaled 22 points and 11 rebounds in a 1-1 week. The rookie tallied nine points and two rebounds in 20 minutes off the bench in a battle with No. 8 Bowdoin. The forward saved her best performance for Saturday’s contest against Colby, scoring 11 of her 13 points in the second half and adding nine defensive rebounds to help seal a 57-53 victory over the Mules. Moore has 14 games with double-digit points this season.
Trinity –
Marlo Simms (Decatur, Ga.) posted her 13th double-double of the season with 10 points and a game-high 11 rebounds in a 69-49 loss at Bates. The junior connected on 5-of-10 field goal attempts with an assist in 26 minutes of work.
Tufts – With the Jumbos going 1-1 on the week at home against Amherst and Hamilton,
Tessa Lozner (Morristown, N.J.) averaged 12.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 0.5 blocks, and 0.5 steals across the two games. In a 49-44 victory against Amherst, Lozner posted 15 points, seven rebounds, three assists, one block, and one steal. In an 81-64 defeat versus Hamilton, the rookie registered nine points, seven rebounds, and three assists.
Wesleyan – Sophomore
Meghan Kirck (Orange, Conn.) connected on seven 3-pointers, matching a single-game program record, on her way to a career-high 29 points in Sunday's four-point loss at Bates. Kirck went 7-for-11 from long range, matching a single-game record that has been done just once before at Wesleyan, while adding three steals to her totals against the Bobcats.
Williams –
Logan Coster (New York, N.Y.) averaged 18.0 points per game and shot a combined 8 of 12 on 3-pointers (66.7%) in two games last week. The senior finished with career highs of 22 points and six made 3-pointers against Colby on Friday. Coster recorded 14 points against No. 8-ranked Bowdoin on Saturday.
