Pair of NESCAC Men's Golfers Earn GCAA All-America Honors

Hamilton College's Ramon Aroca Gonzalez and Amherst's Andre Zhang were selected for the 2025 Division III PING Men's All-America Honorable Team by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Aroca Gonzalez, a junior, earns the honor was the third and it marks the fifth all-America team accolade in the last six years for the Continentals. Zhang earns a spot on the All-America team in his first year with the Mammoths and is the first Amherst golfer to garner the award since Luke Ryan in 1993.

Aroca Gonzalez led Hamilton with an 18-hole stroke average of 72.77 for 22 rounds. He earned four individual medalist honors and finished in the top 10 seven times out of 11 tournaments. Aroca Gonzalez tied for second place at the NESCAC Championship at Williams College's Taconic Golf Club in late April with rounds of 71-71-80. The 80 in the final round was his worst all season, and he shot in the 60s three times.

Gonzalez was selected to compete in the NCAA Division III Championship as an individual for the first time this past spring. The 2025 NESCAC Men's Golfer of the Year was tied for 63rd place out of 225 golfers after rounds of 77 and 76, but he missed the cut for the final 36 holes of the championship.

Zhang burst onto the collegiate golf scene this spring, notching top-10 finishes in all four stroke-play tournaments he competed in, including a 10th-place tie at the NCAA Division III Championships, as the Mammoths won four straight tournaments this spring. The newcomer finished tied for second at the NESCAC Championship, helping the Mammoths win their first conference title since 1997.

Zhang finished the season as the top-ranked golfer in the Clippd rankings in Region I, one of seven regions across the nation, and ranked 38th in all of Division III with an adjusted scoring average of 72.3 in his rookie campaign.
