NESCAC Player of the Week
Will Ashley – Middlebury – So. – San Francisco, Calif.
Ashley hit for the cycle and broke Middlebury’s single-game record for most RBI on Saturday in a 25-8 win at Rutgers-Newark. The sophomore, who is believed to be the first Panther to hit for the cycle in team history, drove in 10 runs and tied single-game marks for hits (5) and at-bats (7). Ashley’s three-run homer was the first of his career and he scored four times in the win. Over a 4-0 week for the Panthers, Ashley led the team with a .450 batting average, tallying seven runs on nine hits to go along with 12 RBI. The infielder was 4-for-5 in stolen bases and leads the NESCAC in hits (10) and runs batted in (13).
 
NESCAC Pitcher of the Week
Emmet Christian – Tufts - Fy. – Chapel Hill, N.C.
Christian got the ball on the bump to start the season and begin his collegiate career on Wednesday versus Brandeis. The rookie struck out four batters and allowed a single hit through four innings of work. The first-year posted a spotless ERA with a 0.75 WHIP in his collegiate debut.
  
NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst – Tyler McCord (Langhorne, Pa.) went 4-for-8 in a 2-1 week for the Mammoths, connecting for two doubles and a homer while drawing one walk. The junior scored three runs and drove home. Rookie Nick Fassert (Katonah, N.Y.) was excellent in his first collegiate start, allowing only four hits and no walks with one strikeout over six innings to pick up the first win of his career in an 11-2 victory at Ramapo in the nightcap of a doubleheader.

Bates – David Swift (Yarmouth, Maine) had a big doubleheader Sunday at RPI, going 1-for-2 with a double and two RBI in Game 1. Swift also executed a pair of sacrifice bunts to perfection, and the rookie went 2-for-3 with two runs scored, a home run – the first of his career - and three RBI in game two of the twin bill. Swift also drew a walk and stole a base … Making just the second relief appearance of his collegiate career, junior Diego Sarabia (Mableton, Ga.) cooled off RPI's hot bats with 1.2 perfect innings pitched, retiring all five batters he faced and striking out one on the afternoon.

Bowdoin – The Polar Bears had two games postponed due to weather and return to action facing Suffolk on March 10.

Colby – Tony Silva (Cranford, N.J.) went 2-3 in a 5-4 win over Southern Maine.  The junior doubled in the first inning to drive in the opening score for the Mules, and he scored the winning run in the bottom of the eighth.  With a hit Sunday against Endicott, Silva has hit safely in all four of Colby's games this season with a .417 batting average … Senior Ryan Grecco (Andover, Mass.) pitched six scoreless innings, walking one and striking out nine while scattering only three hits in his first start of the season for the Mules in a 5-4 win over Southern Maine and also entered the game to see action versus Endicott last week.

Hamilton –  The Continentals will play their season opener on March 15 versus the University of Saint Joseph in Davenport, Fla.

Middlebury – Newcomer Reed Hyde (Darien, Conn.) made his first appearance on the mound this week, striking out seven batters and allowing three hits over five innings in two outings.

Trinity – Dylan Schnitzer (Huntington, N.Y.) became the first Bantam since Matt Koperniak (2018) to hit for the cycle, capping the effort with a two-run opposite-field blast in the bottom of the seventh inning in Game 1 of a doubleheader versus Westfield State. Schnitzer went 4-for-5,  scoring a career-high five runs and matching a career-high with five RBIs, along with two stolen bases in the opening game against the Owls. The junior followed up with a 1-for-4 effort with a run scored in the nightcap.

Wesleyan – The Cardinals dropped their season opener to Gustavus Adolphus on Sunday as they started their spring trip slate in Arizona.

Williams – The Ephs open the season on Wednesday at RPI.
