Trinity Set to Host 2025 NESCAC Women's Squash Championship as Top Seed

HADLEY, Mass. – The Trinity Bantams are the No. 1 seed in the 2025 NESCAC Women’s Squash Championship based on the College Squash Association (CSA) ELO Rankings as of February 4, 2025.
 
The Bantams will host the eight-team NESCAC Championship on February 8-9 at the Kellner Squash Center. The quarterfinals will be held on Saturday, February 8, starting at 10 a.m. The semifinals and final will be played on Sunday, February 9, with the championship match scheduled for 4 p.m.
 
NESCAC Championship History
Trinity has won all 17 NESCAC Women’s Squash titles. Last season the Bantams faced Tufts in the championship match, posting a 9-0 win. Middlebury, Tufts, and Williams are the three teams other than Trinity to play in a championship match in tournament history.
 
No. 1 Trinty Bantams vs. No. 8 Wesleyan Cardinals
  • Trinity is the No. 1 seed for the 18th consecutive season
  • The Bantams have won every NESCAC title (17 straight)
  • Trinity’s Lujan Palacios finished as the runner-up in the Holleran East bracket of the CSA Individual Championships held in New York City (Jan. 25-28)

No. 2 Tufts Jumbos vs. No. 7 Bates Bobcats
  • Tufts has finished as the NESCAC Runner-Up the last three tournaments
  • The Jumbos are the No. 2 seed for the second year in a row
  • After starting the season 1-5, Tufts is 7-1 in its last eight matches
  • The Jumbos’ three consecutive semifinal appearances since 2022 are the first in program history
  • Bates is the No. 7 seed for the second consecutive tournament
  • Navya Gupta recently competed in the CSA Individual Championships in New York City (Jan. 25-28).

No. 3 Amherst Mammoths vs. No. 6 Bowdoin Polar Bears
  • Amherst is the No. 3 seed for the first time since 2020
  • The Mammoths are 6-1 versus NESCAC opponents this season
  • Amherst’s Tanmai Pathak and Quincy Cline competed in the CSA Individual Championships in New York City (Jan. 25-28), and Cline won the Holleran West Consolation title
  • Bowdoin is the No. 6 seed for the second straight tournament
  • The Polar Bears stand at 8-4
  • Emma Watts-Roy was the runner-up in the Holleran South Consolation bracket at the CSA Individual Championships
  • The Mammoths earned an 8-1 win at Bowdoin on January 8
  • Amherst is 4-1 against the Polar Bears in the tournament series, which includes a 5-4 victory in the most recent meeting in the 2017 fifth-place match
No. 4 Williams Ephs vs. No. 5 Middlebury Panthers
  • Williams is the No. 4 seed for the second time in three years
  • The Ephs have qualified for every NESCAC Championship
  • Williams has advanced to the semifinals in every tournament and finished as the runner-up 11 times (last: 2020)
  • The Ephs are 6-1 versus conference opponents this season and 5-1 in their last six matches
  • Middlebury is the No. 5 seed for the first time since 2020
  • The Panthers stand at 9-5 heading into a Wednesday match versus Harvard
  • Middlebury reached the semifinals for the 13th time last year
  • The Panthers were the NESCAC Runners-Up in 2011
  • Williams defeated Middlebury, 8-1, on January 22
