Top Four Seeds Advance in NESCAC Volleyball Championship

For the first time since 2022 the top four seeds in the NESCAC Volleyball Championship advanced through to the semifinal round. Top-seeded Wesleyan will host the remaining rounds at Silloway Gymnasium on Friday, Nov. 14 and Saturday, Nov. 15.

All matches will be streamed for free via the NESCAC NETWORK powered by NSN. The NESCAC NETWORK is available on the streaming apps for television (Android TV, Apple TV, Amazon Fire, Roku), computers, and mobile devices (iOS, Android). No. 1 Wesleyan (20-2) def. No. 8 Bates (12-10), 3-1 | Box Score
  • Wesleyan won its second straight match against the Bobcats by scores of 25-15, 24-26, 25-20, 25-11 to advance to the NESCAC Semifinals for the 11th time in team history and fifth consecutive season.
  • The Cardinals will host the remaining rounds of the NESCAC Tournament for the third time in four years.
  • Siena Steines led the Cardinals with 17 kills, while Elliana Moreno posted 19 digs. Ali Landa handed out a match-high 36 assists.
  • Wesleyan combined for 12 blocks and registered six aces in the match.
  • The Bobcats were led by Malina Young’s double-double of 12 kills and 15 digs. Ellie Asada added 21 digs while Lauren Croom recorded 16 assists.
No. 2 Colby (22-2) def. No. 7 Conn. College (12-11), 3-0 | Box Score
  • Colby, the 2024 NESCAC Runners-Up, is making back-to-back trips to the NESCAC Semifinals for the first time in program history. The Mules defeated Conn. College for the second straight match in a 3-0 sweep (25-11, 25-11, 25-16).
  • The Mules, who have won four straight matches, posted 10 blocks and six aces in a decisive performance.
  • Ingrid Zahn led the Mules with 11 kills, and Alli McKenney recorded 12 digs. Sydney DeProfio paced Colby with 21 assists.
  • Grace Anderson led Conn. College with five kills and Taylor Merrifield had a team-high eight digs.
No. 3 Williams (19-6) def. No. 6 Middlebury (13-12), 3-1 | Box Score
  • Williams recorded a 3-1 victory over Middlebury (25-22, 25-2, 20-25, 25-22) to reach the NESCAC Semifinals for the fourth consecutive season.
  • Morgan Daetz, Lilly Carstens, Eve Kaplan, and Kate Lane all recorded double-doubles for the Ephs.
  • Daetz (26 assists, 10 digs) and Carstens (21 assists, tied career-high 15 digs, 3 service aces) ran the offense, while Kaplan finished the match with 26 digs and 12 assists. Lane contributed a career-best 20 digs to go along with 11 kills.
  • Molly Harrison (13 digs, 11 kills) and Annabella Rando (26 digs) paced the Panthers.
No. 4 Tufts (20-5) def. No. 5 Bowdoin (16-10), 3-0 | Box Score
  • The Jumbos swept the Polar Bears by scores of 25-22, 25-16, 25-16 to win their fourth match in a row.
  • Tufts is making its eighth semifinal appearance in nine tournaments and 17th overall.
  • Claire Castor (13 kills) and Maiwenn Kamdje (10 kills) led the way for Tufts. Rianna Lu handed out 21 assists with 15 digs.
  • The Jumbos combined for six aces in the match and hit .290 as a team.
  • Zoe Ryu and Alison Smith had eight kills each to lead Bowdoin. Ryu also recorded 11 digs.
