Top-seeded Tufts will host No. 2 Williams in the 2025 NESCAC Women’s Soccer Championship game on Sunday, Nov. 9 at 3 p.m. at Bello Field.
The Jumbos needed a late goal to break a 2-2 tie after jumping out to a 2-0 lead in an eventual 3-2 victory over No. 5 Colby. Tufts returns to the NESCAC Championship Game for the first time since 2017 and the fifth time in team history. The No. 2-seeded Williams Ephs took a 2-0 lead in the 71st minute and went on to win 2-1 over No. 3 Middlebury. Williams is making its 14th appearance in the NESCAC final and first since 2018.

- Tufts held a 2-0 lead after 18 minutes of action. Waverly Sumner’s second goal of the year in the 11th minute opened the scoring and gave the Jumbos a 1-0 lead.
- Reese Birch pushed Tufts’ advantage to 2-0 with her eighth marker of the year in the 18th minute.
- Colby sliced the lead in half in the 25th minute. Abigail Jarvi flicked the ball past the Jumbo goalkeeper in a scramble off a corner kick for her 11th goal of the season. Tufts took its 2-1 lead into halftime.
- In the opening minutes of the second stanza, Ella Caraluzzi leveled the match for the Mules, 2-2.
- Maren Jones netted what proved to be the game-winning goal in the 78th minute, finishing off an assist from Birch.
- Shots were nearly even with the Mules holding a 12-11 edge. Gigi Edwards earned the win in the Tufts goal with seven saves, while MK Marshall and Sadie Gardner combined for four stops for Colby.

- Elle Long’s first goal of the season gave Williams a 1-0 lead in the 35th minute. The Ephs took the one-goal advantage into the break.
- Elizabeth Stophel’s fifth marker of the season in the 72 minute doubled the Ephs’ lead.
- Middlebury’s Lauren Tracey found the back of the net at the 88:33 mark to ruin the shutout for Williams.
- The Ephs held a 15-10 advantage in shots and a 11-6 edge in corner kicks. Margaret Huelin finished with nine saves for Williams, while Livia Davidson was credited with six stops for Middlebury.
Championship Matchup
Tufts and Williams finished conference play with identical 7-1-2 records. The Jumbos secured a 2-1 victory over the Ephs in Medford, Mass., on the opening weekend of the season. Williams holds a 4-2-0 edge in the NESCAC Tournament series. The teams last met in the 2022 quarterfinals, with Tufts winning 2-0. The 2025 championship game is notable as the first No. 1 vs. No. 2 matchup since 2018 (No. 1 Williams vs. No. 2 Middlebury) and only the fourth in conference tournament history. The Ephs have participated in all four No. 1/No. 2 championship games.
