Seven NESCAC Teams to Play in NCAA Men's Soccer Championship

A total of seven NESCAC teams were selected for the 2025 NCAA Division III Men’s Soccer Championship. The NCAA Final Four will be played at Kerr Stadium in Salem, Va. On December 5 and 7.

NESCAC Champion Tufts received the conference’s automatic bid after winning the program’s fourth conference title in team history. The Jumbos, the No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament, are making their 11th consecutive NCAA appearance and 14th overall. Tufts has won four national championships (last in 2019), the third-most among NCAA Division III teams. The Jumbos face Penn State Harrisburg in a first-round contest at Brandeis University.

NESCAC Runners-Up Connecticut College, the national runner-up last season, was an at-large selection and will host the University of St. Joseph (CT) in the first round. It’s the Camels’ third straight selection to the national postseason tournament and ninth in team history. Connecticut College won NCAA title in 2021.

Amherst, the defending national champion, is in the NCAA field for the 24th time. The Mammoths, an at-large selection this season, have reached the national championship game three of the last four years and won their second title in program history last December. Amherst has played in every NCAA Tournament since the 2006 season. The Mammoths face Catholic in the first round in a game played on the Cortland campus.

The Bowdoin Polar Bears return to the NCAA Tournament for the second year in a row and 11th time overall. Bowdoin was an at-large selection and will host first and second-round games at Pickard Field. The Polar Bears meet Lyon College out of Arkansas in a first-round contest on Saturday.

Middlebury secured a spot in the NCAA Tournament as an at-large selection. The Panthers are making their eighth straight appearance in the national tournament and 17th in team history. Middlebury captured the national championship in 2007 when head coach Alex Elias was a student-athlete on that Panther squad. Middlebury faces SUNY Geneseo in its first-round game in a match played on the campus of Wheaton College.

Wesleyan is making back-to-back appearances in the NCAA Tournament and its seventh appearance in program history. The Cardinals will host first and second-round matches starting on November 15 and play Lehman in their opening game.

Williams was selected for the NCAA Tournament for the 22nd time in team history and third time in four seasons. The Ephs earned an at-large bid and will face La Roche in their opening game in a match played on the campus of the University of Scranton. Williams won the national championship in 1995 and was the national runner-up in 2022.
