NESCAC Volleyball Weekly Release - Oct. 20, 2025

Every Monday during the season, one NESCAC Player of the Week will be selected based on information submitted by the athletic communications offices at member institutions.

NESCAC Volleyball Player of the Week
Sophia Lindus – Wesleyan – Sr. – Outside Hitter - Los Angelese, Calif.

Lindus helped the Cardinals sweep Williams and Middlebury at home to improve to 8-0 in NESCAC play. Lindus totaled 31 kills across three sets, averaging 5.17 kills per set, with just four attack errors on 64 swings for a .422 attack percentage. The senior added 20 digs, averaging 3.33 per set, and four blocks to her totals for the week. Lindus opened with 14 kills and one error on 29 attempts, hitting .448, to go along with five digs and three blocks in a convincing sweep of Williams. The outside hitter followed up with season-high totals in kills (17) and digs (15) against Middlebury, finishing with 16 kills across the final two sets combined.

Amherst 
– Gabrielle Hines (Chesterfield, Va.) posted 15 kills, 11 digs and two blocks in a pair of matches last week. The rookie notched eight kills, nine digs, and two blocks in a four-set setback to Conn. College.

Bates – Malina Young (Redondo Beach, Calif.) recorded her second double-double of the season as the Bobcats rallied from a set down to defeat Bowdoin 3-1 on Friday. Young tallied a career-high 13 kills in the contest, while also recording 11 digs. It was the first win for Bates volleyball in Brunswick since 2005. Young shared the team-lead in kills the next day with six and added eight digs against a nationally ranked Colby squad. Young's 2.46 digs per set rank second on the team. 

Bowdoin - Sophomore Alison Smith (Austin, Texas) led all players with 16 kills on Saturday as the Polar Bears earned a four-set win over Tufts.

Colby Brady Moseley (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.) helped the Mules defeat No. 23 Tufts and Bates in a NESCAC action. At the net the junior averaged 11.5 kills and on the backline she totaled 32 digs, collecting her fourth double-double in the last seven matches, all against NESCAC opponents. Colby also gained eight points while Moseley was serving, including the final points to close out Friday's contest against Tufts. 

Conn. College – Grace Anderson (Pawling, N.Y.) recorded 37 kills, hit .359 and added 12 total block to lead the Camels to a 3-0 record last week, highlighted by road wins at Amherst and Hamilton. The sophomore supplied a career-high 19 kills to go with five digs and five blocks in the 3-1 win over Hamilton. Anderson also finished with nine kills in four-set wins over both Amherst and Coast Guard, and averaged 3.08 kills and 1.0 blocks per set for the week.

Hamilton – Rookie Grace Seaman (Burlington, Mass.) hammered a season-high 13 kills and tied a season best with 10 digs in the Continentals' three-set win against Trinity. The double-double was Seaman's first. Fellow first-year Grace Jansen (Crystal Lake, Ill.) recorded a season-high six service aces in a four-set loss against Connecticut College.

Middlebury – Junior Molly Harrison (Tiburon, Calif.) tallied a team-best 15 kills and a .433 hitting percentage against Wesleyan. The Panther has had double-digit kills in 15 of the last 16 matches and is 27 successful swings away from 1,000 in a Middlebury uniform.

Williams – Junior Morgan Daetz (Danville, Calif.) posted a double-double performance (30 assists and 12 digs) in the Ephs' five-set loss to Kean on Saturday. Daetz played a big part in leading the Ephs' offense in the 3-0 win on Saturday evening against NYU.
