NESCAC Player of the Week
Ryan Grace - Colby - Jr. IF/OF - Concord, Mass.
Grace led Colby to three victories last week including a NESCAC Quarterfinal sweep of Wesleyan. The junior collected six hits, five of which were doubles, scored five runs and drove on five more. Grace finished the week hitting .500 with a .917 slugging percentage and .647 OBP. In the doubleheader against the Cardinals, Grace reached base in seven of 11 plate appearances, including five of six in the clinching extra-inning win.
 
NESCAC Pitcher of the Week
Nicholas Giattino - Amherst - Sr. - P - Pound Ridge, N.Y. 
Giattino pitched a nine-inning complete-game, two-hitter to lead the Mammoths past Bowdoin, 2-1, and force a third and deciding game. The senior walked four and struck out five. With the score tied 1-1 in the top of the seventh, Bowdoin had runners on second and third with no outs, but Giattino retired the next three hitters without allowing the Polar Bears to score. Giattino retired 14 of the final 16 batters he faced and in the top of the ninth, on his 102nd pitch, he hit 91 mph, the fastest pitch of his Amherst career. The nine-inning complete game was the first of his Amherst career. Giattino improved to 5-1 on the season. 
  
NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
AmherstCharlie LaFreniere (Norwalk, Conn.) went 5-for-12 (.417) in the NESCAC Quarterfinal best-of-3 against Bowdoin. The rookie scored four runs, walked once, and drove in two others for the Mammoths. LaFrenier’s walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth inning of Game 2 gave Amherst a 2-1 win and forced a third and deciding game.

ColbyDerek Woods (Rye, N.Y) opened the NESCAC Quarterfinal series with a dominant performance in Game 1 for his fifth win of the season. The sophomore held the Cardinals in check across six innings, scattering four hits and striking out seven. The Mules led 6-1 when Woods exited the game.

Hamilton - Greg Kopp (McLean, Va.) hit a solo home run in the first game of the best-of-3 NESCAC Quarterfinal Series at Tufts and doubled in the second game. Kopp hit safely in the last seven games. The home run was the second of the junior's career. Kopp also singled, doubled, drove in two runs, scored another, and stole a base in a 14-5 win against Utica. Aidan Regan (Princeton, N.J.), pitching for the first time since April 13 due to injury, allowed one hit in one scoreless inning of relief in the second game of a best-of-3 NESCAC Quarterfinal Series at Tufts. The appearance was also the last of Regan's Hamilton career.

MiddleburyKyle McCausland (Wellesley, Mass.) helped Middlebury claim the opening game of a best-of-3 NESCAC Quarterfinal series against Trinity. The Panther went 2-for-4 at the plate with three RBI and a pair of runs, including the walk-off homer in the 10th inning to secure a 6-5 win. In a rain-soaked 18-12 triumph third and deciding game on Sunday, McCausland had one hit, a season-high three runs scored, and drove in three runs to help Middlebury clinch the series. The Panther ranks second among the program leaders in career RBIs (13) and homers (25). Justin Lessing (Westport, Conn.) continued his outstanding performance on the mound this season. The Panther struck out 13 batters over seven innings in the opening game of the best-of-3 series against Trinity, helping Middlebury knot the contest 3-3 and eventually edge the Bantams 6-5 in extra innings. Lessing has 69 strikeouts this spring, moving him into fourth place on Middlebury’s single-season list. The pitcher leads the NESCAC and ranks second in the country with an ERA of 1.13, and is the lone pitcher to allow single-digit runs this year. 

TrinityJack Ryan (Bethesda, Md.) wrapped up a four-game week with a solid batting performance, going 5-for-16 and maintaining a batting average of .312. The senior concluded the best-of-3 NESCAC Quarterfinal series with an impressive tally of five hits and four RBI. During the series, Ryan registered two doubles and drew two walks. Michael Aceto (Hamden, Conn.) pitched in Game 2 of the three-game series against Middlebury, stepping onto the field in the fifth inning. Aceto delivered three stellar innings, holding the Panthers hitless and scoreless. The junior’s performance proved crucial as the Bantams seized the lead in the seventh inning. Trinity would secure Game 2 with a final score of 5-4.

TuftsHenry Fleckner (Weston, Mass.) had a big week for the Jumbos in a perfect 3-0 week, as the junior outfielder was 7-for-13 (.538) while posting three RBI, a double, two runs scored, and five stolen bases. Fleckner posted three hits in each of Tufts' wins over Hamilton in the NESCAC Quarterfinals, going 3-for-5 with an RBI and two stolen bases in Game 1. The junior followed that up with a 3-for-4 game with two runs and two more stolen bases in Game 2 to seal the quarterfinal series win. Silas Reed (Brookline, Mass.) helped Tufts earn a 7-2 win in Game 1 of the NESCAC Quarterfinals. The senior posted a nine-inning complete game, allowing just five hits and two runs while fanning five Hamilton hitters. Reed walked just two hitters on the day. 

Williams – Senior Mike Giove (Berlin, Conn.) went 2-of-5 batting, with four RBI, and one run scored, during a 14-12 triumph at the University of Hartford on Wednesday. Giove connected on a two-run double in the third and a solo home run in the sixth. Max Hart (San Antonio, Texas) earned the save, retiring the side in order in the ninth inning, in a 14-12 victory at the University of Hartford on Wednesday.
