NESCAC Women's Golf Awards Released

HADLEY, Mass. - The NESCAC announced its women's golf awards for the 2023-24 season with the Williams Ephs sweeping the individual honors. Gio Kim was selected as the NESCAC Golfer of the Year, teammate Emma Abramson was named the NESCAC Rookie of the Year and Williams head coach Tomas Adalsteinsson was voted as the NESCAC Coach of the Year by his peers.

Kim, a junior, was the medalist at the NESCAC Women's Golf Championship to help the Ephs win their sixth conference title. She carded a 69 in the first round of the championship to help Williams build a 22-stroke lead after the first day and finished +2 for the tournament (69-75-144). Kim also posted a 69 for the second round of the fall qualifier where she finished fourth overall. Kim, who earned All-NESCAC honors for the second straight season, posted six top-10 finishes this season and owns a 74.2 scoring average. Kim is the sixth Williams golfer to earn the Golfer of the Year honor.

Abramson, the fourth Eph to garner Rookie of the Year honors, finished three strokes back of Kim at the NESCAC Women's Golf Championship, finishing with a 36-hole score of 147 (73-74). The rookie also finished fifth at the fall qualifier to help Williams win the event and earn the right to host the NESCAC Championship in the spring. Abramson, who posted four top-5 finishes in her first season at Williams, carries a 74.2 scoring average into the NCAA Championships as the Ephs earned an automatic bid to the tournament.

Adalsteinsson earns the NESCAC Coach of the Year honor for the second time in his career (2018-19) after leading the Ephs to their sixth NESCAC Championship and an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship.
