NESCAC Player of the Week
Mitchell Schroeder - Middlebury – Sr. – IF/OF – Brookline, Mass.
Schroeder led Middlebury to a series sweep over Bowdoin with three sensational performances. The Panther averaged .625 at the plate and slugged 1.875 with five hits, a double, three homers, five runs scored, and 12 RBI. Schroeder shined in doubleheader action on Saturday, going 4-for-5 with a pair of grand slams. The senior surpassed the 100 career-hits mark, now totaling 103. Schroeder’s seven RBI and two homers during the opening game both tie for third-most in a single game in the Middlebury record books.
 
NESCAC Pitcher of the Week
Silas Reed – Tufts – Sr. – P – Brookline, Mass.
Reed had one of the best games in NESCAC history for a Jumbo on Saturday, as he worked a complete-game shutout while allowing three hits and three walks and striking out 17 batters in a 5-0 victory over Bates. The 17 strikeouts were the most for a Tufts pitcher in the NESCAC era, and the second-most of Division III pitchers this season.
  
NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
AmherstJack Dove (Norwalk, Conn.) drove in nine RBI over four games last week, batting .286 and collecting the 100th hit of his career.  In the bottom of the sixth in a 7-7 game on Saturday, Dove drove a three-run double to snap the tie and lead Amherst to a 13-7 win in Game 2 versus Hamilton.  In the series finale on Sunday, Amherst trailed Hamilton 4-2 when Dove connected for a bottom-of-the-fifth-inning grand slam, leading to an 8-5 lead and eventual victory. The grand slam was the 100th hit of the senior’s career. Jack Sampedro (Miami Beach, Fla.) threw six key innings last week in a 4-0 week for the Mammoths. The junior tossed two shutout innings in a win over Westfield State, then closed out an 8-5 win over Hamilton with four innings of one-run relief to earn his first save of the season. 

BatesLiam Yardley (Keene, N.H.) delivered the game-winning hit in extra innings of Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader against Tufts, smacking the ball to the right field fence for a walk-off single in a 10-9 eight-inning victory for the Bobcats. Yardley went 2-for-4 in the contest with a run scored and an RBI. Yardley also shined on defense, throwing out three Tufts runners trying to steal. The sophomore kept his bat going in the series finale on Sunday, going 1-for-3 with a run scored, an RBI, and a hit-by-pitch.  In only the second outing of his collegiate career, Kenny Carlisle (South Portland, Maine) struck out all three batters the rookie faced Sunday against Tufts.

ColbyMarcus Forrester (Marshfield, Mass.) helped the Mules to three wins on the week, including two in their NESCAC series opener over Trinity.  The senior collected multiple hits in all four games, including six doubles and a home run, and scored a run in each.  Aidan Aggarwal (Barrington, R.I.) recorded his first two collegiate wins in relief last week for the Mules.  In Tuesday's matchup with Thomas College, the first year hurled 2.2 innings to complete a comeback against the Terriers.  Aggarwal made his second appearance of the week in Sunday's rubber match against Trinity, firing a scoreless fifth inning to earn the win on the bump.  Aggarwal tallied 3.2 innings of work for the week. In four appearances this season he has thrown 8.0 scoreless innings while surrendering only one hit.  

HamiltonCharlie O'Brien (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) went 3-for-6 with four RBI, two runs scored, and a walk, and was hit by a pitch twice during a three-game series at Amherst. O'Brien's three-run homer in the second game of the weekend was the first of the senior's career. O'Brien got a hit in each game against the Mammoths and has a four-game hit streak intact overall. In a no-decision, junior Jack Eshleman (Collegeville, Pa.) allowed one run on five hits, struck out four, and walked two in 6.1 innings of the Continentals' 5-4 setback in the seven-inning opener of the doubleheader at Amherst. Eshleman has given up one earned run or none in four of five starts this season.

Middlebury – Junior Justin Lessing (Westport, Con.) picked up his second straight win on the mound in the second game of the series against Bowdoin. The Panther threw six shutout innings while striking out seven Polar Bears en route to the 10-2 victory.

Trinity – Sophomore Andrew Park (Flushing, N.Y.) went 3-for-4 from the plate registering three RBI with two solo home runs to help propel the Bantams to a 14-11 victory in divisional play in the series opener against Colby. Park would hit a two-run shot for his third home run of the series in Game 2. Park added a sacrifice fly and a stolen base in Game 1 against the Mules. Park finished the series hitting .500 at the plate with five runs scored, five RBI, and three homers. Senior Ian Brown (Tampa, Fla.) worked six innings against the Mules in Game 2 of the three-game series, throwing seven strikeouts.

TuftsMalachi Pena (Albuquerque, N.M.) helped the Jumbos to a 3-1 week as Tufts took two of three in divisional games against Bates. Pena was 7-for-15 (.467) on the week in four starts, while leading the team with seven RBI. The rookie also scored twice and doubled twice, getting on base at a .529 clip. Pena had at least one hit in all four games, including going 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run in a win over Wheaton. Pena also had two hits and three RBI against Bates in Game 1 on Saturday. 

Wesleyan – Junior Evan Diaz (Yonkers, N.Y.) had two monster performances in Saturday's doubleheader sweep for Wesleyan over Williams, as the junior third baseman went 6-for-14 with five extra-base hits including two doubles, two triples, and one home run while he added six RBI, two walks, two stolen bases, and seven runs scored as the Cardinals beat the Ephs, 21-1 and 13-0. The 20-run win in Game 1 of the doubleheader is the biggest win over the Ephs in more than 300 all-time meetings between Wesleyan and Williams. Senior AJ Karabenick (Duxbury, Mass.) tossed eight shutout innings with just three hits allowed to go along with six strikeouts as the Cardinals defeated Williams, 13-0. Karabenick has thrown 17 innings against NESCAC competition this season and has allowed just one run with 13 strikeouts (0.53 ERA).

WilliamsBrendan Stannard (Pittsfield, Mass.) went 6-for-12 batting, with four runs, two RBIs, and one double, in a 2-2 week for the Ephs. The junior went 2-for-3 in the batter's box, with two runs, one RBI, and one double, in an 8-3 win in six innings over visiting Castleton on Tuesday. In an 11-5 divisional win at Wesleyan on Sunday, Stannard recorded two hits, to go along with one RBI and one run scored. Sophomore Teddy Massingham (Duxbury, Mass.) earned the win in a relief role, working 3.3 innings, and only gave up one earned run, along with four strikeouts and two hits, during an 11-5 NESCAC win at Wesleyan Sunday afternoon.
