NESCAC Player of the Week
Noah Reichman - Colby - Sr. - IF - Frontenac, Mo.
Reichman led the Mules at the plate last week collecting hits in all four games played. The senior went 6-for-6 in two games against Tufts, including a 5-for-5 performance on Saturday that featured two home runs and a double while driving in six runs. Reichman was also 4-for-5 night against the University of Southern Maine and drove in another four runs. For the week, Reichman went 11-for-15 (.733) with 10 RBI and has 13 hits and 13 RBI in the last five games.
NESCAC Pitcher of the Week
Alex Saavedra - Bowdoin - So. - P - Tiburon, Calif.
Saavedra
was outstanding in three relief appearances last week, leading Bowdoin to a trio of wins, with Saavedra picking up victories in both divisional games on the weekend, the Polar Bears' first two divisional wins of the season. Saavedra started his week with a scoreless two-inning hold as the Polar Bears rallied for a 6-5 win over Saint Joseph's. On Friday night in a 13-8 win over Bates, Saavedra earned the victory with 2.2 innings out of the bullpen, settling the game down after a high-scoring start. The sophomore capped the week with a dominant 5.1 innings of one-hit shutout ball, earning his second win of the weekend in a 7-3 victory over Tufts. For the week, Saavedra went 2-0 and tossed 10.0 innings, allowing just one earned run and five hits, recording a 0.90 ERA.
NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst –
Jack Dove (Norwalk, Conn.) batted .462 (6-for-13) with a .563 on-base percentage in a 3-1 week for the Mammoths. The week included a 30-7 win over Clark in which the Mammoths produced a modern-day school record for runs scored in a single game. Dove was 4-for-6 with four runs scored and an RBI against Clark. In the three wins, the senior walked four times, scored six runs, drove in four runs, and stole two bases.
Yoon Chae (Virginia Beach, Va.) went 2-0 on the mound in a 3-1 week for the Mammoths. In a win over Clark, he threw 2.2 innings of scoreless relief, allowing just a hit without a walk and striking out two. The newcomer also pitched a 1.3 of an inning in a 7-6 win over Trinity, earning the win when the Mammoths scored a walk-off run in the bottom of the eighth.
Bates –
Ben Genser (Newton, Mass.) tallied four hits in an 8-4 win over the University of Maine at Farmington on Tuesday, going 4-for-5 with a double, a run scored, and a stolen base. The junior followed that up with a hit, two runs scored, and a walk against Bowdoin on Friday. Genser smacked a two-run home run in game one of Saturday's doubleheader against the Polar Bears, a game that was suspended due to rain and will resume at a later date. Newcomer
Theo Zacharia (Manhasset, N.Y.) struck out five batters in two shutout innings out of the bullpen in his collegiate debut Tuesday against the University of Maine at Farmington, helping the Bobcats defeat the Beavers 8-4.
Colby –

Nicholas Thompson (Scarborough, Maine) threw 6.2 innings in the opener, leaving the game with the Mules in front 10-1. The lefty scattered five hits while striking out six, hurling 113 total pitches on the night to collect his third win of the season and helping Colby move to the top of the NESCAC East Division standings.
Hamilton –
Jackson Sattinger (Port Washinton, N.Y.) hit .533 (8-for-15) in a 2-2 week. Sattinger went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in a 15-5 win against Wesleyan on Friday. The senior singled, doubled, was hit by a pitch, scored three runs, and drove in another run in a 24-3 victory against the Cardinals in Game 1 on Saturday. Jack Eshleman (Westport, Conn.) improved to 3-0 in a 24-3 win in seven innings against Wesleyan. Eshleman pitched the first 5.1 innings and allowed two earned runs on four hits, struck out six, walked one, and hit a batter.
Middlebury – Junior
Kyle McCausland (Wellesley, Mass.) helped Middlebury secure a 4-1 week. Across the four wins, McCausland led the team in hits (7), runs batted in (7), and home runs (3), while also scoring six times. McCausland moved into second place on Middlebury’s all-time home runs list with 21 and third with 110 career RBI.
Junior
Justin Lessing (Westport, Conn.) earned his third-straight win on the mound and hurled the first complete game of his career to help Middlebury top Williams, 3-2, in the opening contest of the divisional series. Lessing struck out a career-high 13 batters over seven innings of work, posting an ERA of 1.29. The Panther leads NESCAC pitchers with a 1.01 ERA.
Trinity –
William Sawyer (Easthampton, Mass.) went 6-for-14 at the plate for the week, registering two runs scored, three RBI, two home runs, and 13 putouts in the outfield in a 2-2 week for the Bantams. In Game 3 of the divisional series versus Amherst, Sawyer began the game with a two-run homer and closed the game by hitting another home run, a solo shot. Sawyer holds a .900 slugging percentage with an on-base percentage of .636 on the season. Junior
Michael Aceto (Hamden, Conn.) made an appearance against Amherst in Game 3 of the divisional series. Aceto tossed six innings in an 8-0 victory over the Mammoths, allowing six hits, two strikeouts, two walks, and no runs.
Tufts – Senior
Ozzie Fleischer (Fort Worth, Texas) led the Jumbos offensively on the week, as the shortstop of Tufts hit .350 with a team-high seven hits, doubling once while scoring twice and driving in two runs. Tufts' senior right-hander
Hunter Beindorff (Lone Tree, Colo.) pitched in three of Tufts' six games this past week, allowing no runs over 4.2 innings of relief, surrendering just two hits while fanning two hitters. Against MIT on Wednesday, Beindorff allowed just one hit over three innings of work and then threw scoreless frames against Colby on Friday and Bowdoin on Sunday.
Wesleyan – Junior
David Tirrell (Westfield, Mass.) was outstanding in Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader against Hamilton, tossing a career-high seven innings of two-run ball, allowing six hits with two walks and six strikeouts as he earned the win on the mound. Just one of his two runs allowed was earned while the six strikeouts are the second-most for Tirrell in a single game over his career.
Williams –
Ryan Nakajima (Bothell, Wash.) went 8-of-20 batting, with four RBI and three runs scored, in five games for the Ephs last week. The first-year outfielder went 3-for-4 batting, with one RBI and one run scored, in a 6-4 NESCAC victory at Middlebury Sunday. Nakajima finished 2-for-4 in the batter's box, with one RBI in a midweek game at Union. First-year
Owen McHugh (Milton, Mass.) pitched the final four innings and did not give up a hit or run, while striking out two and walking one, on his way to his first collegiate victory in a 6-4 win at Middlebury Sunday.
