HADLEY, Mass. – Trinity’s Nouran Youssef is the 2024 NESCAC Women’s Squash Player of the Year while Melanie Wang of Williams is the NESCAC Rookie of the Year, and Middlebury Head Coach Mark Lewis is the NESCAC Coach of the Year as voted on by the conference coaches.
Playing in the top half of the ladder for Trinity, Youssef won all three of her matches at the NESCAC Championship to help the Bantams claim their 17th straight conference title. Youssef, who earned a spot on the All-NESCAC First Team for the third straight season, won all three of her matches at the CSA Team Championship to help Trinity win the Howe Cup and finish the 2023-24 season with a perfect record of 17-0. The 2024 season marks the fifth consecutive year a Bantam has been named NESCAC Player of the Year and Youssef is the 14th Bantam overall to garner the honor
Wang is the first Eph to garner the NESCAC Rookie of the Year honor since 2008 and also garnered a spot on the All-NESCAC First Team. Wang helped Williams reach the semifinals of the NESCAC Championship for the 17th year in a row.
Middlebury Head Coach Mark Lewis was voted as the NESCAC Coach of the Year by his peers. Lewis led the Panthers to the NESCAC Semifinals and the semifinals of the Kurtz Cup. Middlebury finished the season with a 14-5 record. This season marks the third time Lewis has been lauded by his peers in his nine seasons at the helm of the Middlebury program.
