NESCAC Player of the Week
Brandon Biggane - Bates - Jr. - C - Rensselaer, N.Y.
Biggane tallied six hits, scored five runs, drove in six runs, and tallied two triples in a three-game sweep over Bard. Biggane's solo home run to lead off the top of the 15th inning on Sunday was the eventual game-winning hit in the series finale, as Bates won 4-2 in the longest game innings-wise for the Bobcats since 2006.

NESCAC Pitcher of the Week
Matthew Scibilio - Colby - Sr - Scituate, Mass.
Scibilio hurled 3.2 shutout innings in relief against Southern Maine on Wednesday to earn his first victory of the season. The senior struck out a career-high 10 of the 15 batters he faced while allowing only two hits in the 5-3 victory. For the week Scibilio fanned 12 of the 19 batters he faced over four innings of relief work.
 
NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst – Senior Christian Fagnant (East Granby, Conn.) went 2-for-4 with a double and run scored in the Mammoths' season-opening 8-2 victory over Ramapo College, and classmate Nicholas Giattino (Pound Ridge, N.Y.) pitched six innings in the seven-inning game, allowing three hits while walking four and striking out three to earn his first victory of the season. 

BatesJack Potash (Stratford, Conn.) was outstanding out of the bullpen on Sunday, going seven shutout innings as Bates prevailed 4-2 over Bard in 15 innings. The senior struck out four and allowed just three hits while throwing 85 pitches. Potash worked around a walk and a hit-by-pitch to secure the win with a scoreless bottom of the 15th, the longest game for the Bobcats innings-wise since Bates beat Western Connecticut State 1-0 in 16 innings in 2006.

Bowdoin – The Polar Bears begin a spring break trip on Monday with two games versus Loras.

Colby - Senior Cole Palmeri (Hamilton, Mass.) collected his 100th career hit Saturday against Endicott. To reach the milestone, the senior recorded a hit midweek against Southern Maine, two hits in the first game of a doubleheader against the Gulls, and his century-mark moment came in the bottom of the third inning in Saturday's nightcap. The two-time All-NESCAC selection has hit safely in all four games to start the 2024 season

Hamilton – The Continentals' game versus Johns Hopkins scheduled for last week was canceled. Hamilton returns to action on Monday, March 11 with a doubleheader at Hampden-Sydney.

Middlebury - Senior Mitchell Schroeder (Brookline, Mass.) played a pivotal role in a 2-0 weekend for Middlebury. Batting .750 at the plate, the Panther had two runs on three hits, with one homer, three RBI, and a stolen base. Schroeder shined in a come-from-behind 8-7 victory against VSTU-Castleton on Saturday. Trailing 7-4 with two outs in the ninth, Schroeder belted a game-tying three-run round-tripper to level the score at 7-7. Andrew Gatland (Western Springs, Ill.) earned the save in Middlebury's 4-3 home opener versus Keene State on Friday. The Panther entered the game in the top of the eighth with Middlebury leading by a run. Gatland recorded the final six outs of the contest, allowing no runs and striking out four over a pair of innings to secure the 4-3 triumph. 

Trinity – Junior shortstop Tanner Fairchild (Sarasota, Fla.) went 1-for-3 with two RBI in the sixth inning in a loss to Brandeis. Fairchild went 2-for-5 with a double, home run, and two RBI in a victory over Swarthmore in the opening game of the Bantams' spring break trip. Michael Aceto (Hamden, Conn.) was the winning pitcher in the Bantams' victory over Swarthmore. The junior tossed seven innings collecting five strikeouts. Aceto currently has a 2-0 record on the season.

Tufts - Patrick Solomon (Northborough, Mass.) had a strong start to the Tufts season, as the senior was 4-for-11 (.364) with two doubles, a homer, and four RBI in a 2-1 week. The senior also stole a pair of bases, as he went 2-for-6 against Brandeis in the season opener, scoring a pair of runs while homering once and driving in three. Against Eastern Connecticut State, Solomon was 1-for-3 with a double in Game 1 and followed that up with a 1-for-3 effort with a double and an RBI in Game 2. Cole Donato (Walpole, Mass.) had a strong first appearance for the Jumbos, as the sophomore tossed four scoreless innings against Eastern Connecticut State, striking out three while allowing no hits and walking two.

Wesleyan - James Marsden (Ivortyton, Conn.) reached base in three of his four plate appearances in the lone game for Wesleyan last week, a 5-0 win over Gustavus Adolphus. The sophomore smacked a run-scoring triple in the eighth inning and walked twice. In the season-opening game for Wesleyan, Pat Murphy (Gardner, N.Y.) went seven shutout innings, picking up the win as the Cardinals defeated Gustavus Adolphus 5-0 on Sunday. Murphy allowed just four hits and three walks with six strikeouts. The senior retired nine consecutive batters in the fourth through sixth innings and allowed just one hit after the second inning. 

Williams – The Ephs open the 2024 season on Wednesday, March 13 at RPI.
