The NESCAC has released its Players of the Week for the week of November 11. The conference recognizes student-athletes for each sport based on their contributions to their team each week. During the fall season, football, field hockey, men's soccer, women's soccer, and volleyball will be announced on Mondays.
Field Hockey
Lydia Eastburn – Tufts – Jr. - GK – New Hope, Pa.
For the second week in a row Eastburn is the NESCAC Player of the Week after leading Tufts to the NESCAC title. Eastburn excelled as Tufts won both the semifinal and final games in the shootout round. The junior stopped four of Williams' five attempts in the shootout during the semifinals for a 3-2 (2-1 shootout) win. In the final against Bates, Eastburn defended three of five attempts in a 1-0 (3-2 shootout) Tufts win. For the two games Eastburn defended seven of the opponents' 10 shootout attempts and ended both games with saves to give Tufts the wins. Eastburn had a .800 save percentage (8 saves, 2 GA) in regulation and overtime in the two games combined including a shutout against Bates.

Offensive Player of the Week
Niko Candido – Wesleyan – Sr. - QB – Studio City, Calif.
Playing for Wesleyan's first-ever outright NESCAC Championship, Candido (threw for 190 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions against a Trinity defense that came into Saturday’s game with 16 interceptions. Candido faced heavy pressure throughout the game from the Bantam defensive front, but slipped outside the pocket when necessary, picking up 51 yards on 20 attempts, with one rushing score. Candido accounted for all four Wesleyan touchdowns, including the go-ahead score with 6:10 remaining and a 15-yard score on a 4th-and-goal play with 1:27 left. The three passing touchdowns are a season-high for Candido while he is just the second quarterback in nine weeks to play Trinity and not turn the ball over

Defensive Player of the Week
Julian Young – Colby – Sr. - LB – Manalapan, N.J.
In his final collegiate game, Julian Young (Manalapan, N.J.) ended his career with 295 tackles while leading the Mules defense to seven turnovers and seven sacks against Bowdoin to bring the CBB trophy back to Waterville. Young forced a fumble on a sack on Bowdoin's fifth offensive play, and intercepted a pass early in the third quarter as Colby held the Polar Bears to their lowest offensive scoring of the season. After finishing the 2022 season as the second-leading tackler in the NESCAC and leading the league in 2023, Young finished second in the conference again in 2024.
Special Teams Player of the Week
Christos Tzoumakas – Colby – K/P – So. – Birmingham, Mich.
Tzoumakas connected on his two field goal attempts and four extra points as Colby defeated Bowdoin 34-10 to bring the CBB trophy back to Waterville. The sophomore’s first field goal was from 40 yards five minutes into the game to put the Mules ahead 10-0. The second attempt was from 41 yards midway through the second period to give Colby a 20-10 lead. Tzoumakas connected on eight field goals on the season giving him 14 in his first two years. The two from 40+ gives him three over 40 in his career. Tzoumakas also placed three punts inside the 20 and gave Bowdoin an average field position of the 23-yard line on seven kickoffs.
Men’s Soccer
Charlie Miles - Conn. College - So. - D - Tarrytown, N.Y.
Miles played every minute last weekend as the Camels captured the NESCAC Championship for the first time in program history. The sophomore defender anchored a back line that yielded only two goals in wins over No. 20 Williams and No. 3 Middlebury. Conn. College never trailed at any point in the tournament, and in the title game Miles helped limit the NESCAC's top offense to just a single goal as the Camels handed the Panthers their first loss of the season.
Women’s Soccer
Charlotte Huang - Amherst - Sr. - D - Arlington, Mass.
Huang played a critical role in the Mammoths' journey to a third straight NESCAC Championship. The Mammoths allowed one goal over 210 minutes of action, which included a 2-1 win over Tufts in the semifinals and a scoreless 110 minutes versus Colby which resulted in Amherst earning a 5-4 penalty kick shootout victory in the championship game. Huang's consistent clearing of the ball or dispossessing opposing players helped the Mammoths limit opponents to only 11 shots on goal in the two contests.
Volleyball | Weekly Release & Honor Roll
Keely Campuzano – Williams – So. - OH – Excelsior, Minn.
Campuzano of the sixth-seeded Williams women's volleyball team posted a career-high 21 kills while hitting .378 to help the Ephs pull out a five-set upset of third-seeded Tufts in a NESCAC Quarterfinal. Campuzano also chipped in three services aces, nine digs, and five block assists. The sophomore also recorded her 500th career kill during the match.
