NESCAC Volleyball Player of the Week
Marit Hoyem – Williams – Sr. -  MH/OPP – Menlo Park, Calif.
Hoyem totaled 45 kills (3.0 kills per set) with a .463 hitting percentage in a 4-0 week for the Ephs. The senior tallied 15 kills and five total blocks in a five-set win against Hamilton and added nine kills on 12 attempts (.667) against Middlebury. Hoyem finished the week with 11 blocks and two service aces to help Williams improve to 7-0 in 2023.

NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Bates Chrissy Chu (Old Tappan, N.J.) recorded a pair of double-doubles in a 1-1 NESCAC weekend for the Bobcats. The junior dished out 33 assists and tallied 12 digs in a four-set loss to Bowdoin on Friday. Chu followed up with career-highs of 34 assists and 14 digs in a 3-2 win over Connecticut College on Saturday. Chu also tallied three kills, two service aces, and a block against the Camels. 
Bowdoin - First-year Skye LaMendola (Farmers Branch, Texas) led the Polar Bears with 12 kills and 11 digs in a Friday night victory at Bates.

Colby - Outside hitter LJ Grant (New York, N.Y.) led the Mules to a 2-0 start in conference play with wins over Conn. College and Bowdoin.  The sophomore's 17 kills against the Polar Bears marked the second-highest tally in her career and her hitting percentage of .410 (one error on 39 attempts) was a career-high. Grant averaged 3.86 digs per set and registered three aces for the week.

Conn. College - Rae Wartelle (Tacoma, Wash.) posted a team-high 22 kills and hit .543 over three matches last week as the Camels went 1-2. The first-year finished with a season-high nine kills on 10 swings in a 3-0 victory over Saint Josephs (Conn.). In league action, Wartelle recorded four kills at Colby and nine at Bates and added one block in each match.

Hamilton - Kate Carman (New York, N.Y.) averaged 4.5 kills and 0.57 blocks in 14 sets as the Continentals won two of three matches. Carman posted 17 kills in a five-set victory against Amherst and repeated the feat in a five-set loss to Williams. The senior's five total blocks against the Ephs were a career-best. Carman tied a school record for kills in a match with 29 in a four-set win against St. Lawrence. The outside hitter had just five attack errors in 55 attempts for a .436 hitting percentage against the Saints.  

Middlebury – First-year Molly Harrison (Tiburon, Calif.) led Middlebury with 34 kills in a week that included two wins. The Panther was key in a 3-0 victory over Amherst, pacing the team with 16 kills, which was the highest total across the NESCAC last week, while also contributing six digs and a .452 hitting percentage. Harrison currently leads the conference in kills per set (3.94). 

Trinity – Junior Eva Lekovic (San Marino, Calif.) paced the Bantam attack in a 1-2 week. In a 3-0 win at Hartford, Lekovic notched seven kills and two blocks and then racked up a team-high 14 kills with three digs, two assists, and two blocks in a five-set battle against Coast Guard. Lekovic added 11 kills in a 3-0 loss at Tufts.

Wesleyan - Bianca Gonya (Brooklyn, N.Y.) racked up 10 kills in five sets played with a .471 attack percentage to go along with four blocks as Wesleyan swept Tufts and Endicott on the road to stay undefeated in 2023. Gonya opened with four kills and four blocks as the Cardinals swept the reigning NESCAC Champions for the first time in Medford since 2001. The junior was nearly perfect the next day, racking up six kills on seven attempts in just two sets played as Wesleyan swept the Gulls to move to 6-0 on the season. Gonya is ranked second among the NESCAC leaders in blocks per set (1.00).
