The transition from college student-athlete to post-graduate member of society can be a tricky one, but it doesn’t appear that will be the case with Tufts University women’s lacrosse player Caroline Walter. Following a stellar career for the Jumbos, as she helped lead the team to three NCAA Tournament appearances and two NCAA Championship games, Walter jumped right into life after college.

Though Walter technically has one more semester until she’s officially done, Walter has started to plan out where she’ll be, starting first this summer with an exciting internship. “This summer I am again working for Elevance Health, a whole-health company and health insurance provider in New York City as an Info Technology intern on the AI team.”

“I have one last semester to complete as I took the Fall of 2020 off during the pandemic, so a few friends and I will be abroad in London this coming Fall to conclude my Tufts undergraduate career,” said Walter. “I am super excited about this upcoming experience and couldn't be happier that Tufts and my family made it possible.  After this coming fall concludes, I plan to continue my work at Elevance full time living in New York.”

She mentioned as well that her experience as a student-athlete and women’s lacrosse player helped prepare her for life after graduation. “I think Tufts molded me into the person I am today, and I am better for it,” said Walter. “I was recruited to play on a team with brilliant, hardworking people who pushed me to be my best every day.  One of my favorite quotes is something like "You're only as good as the people you surround yourself with", and Tufts is crawling with intelligent, hardworking, and kind people.”
