Maddie Hong was a dual-sport student-athlete during her Hamilton College career. As a member of the women’s golf team, Maddie was an All-NESCAC selection as a sophomore and a senior and helped the Continentals achieve their first national ranking on April 30, 2021. As a member of the women’s ice hockey team, Hong scored seven goals and had 20 assists in 78 career games as she split time between forward and defense. She earned NESCAC Winter and Spring All-Academic Team honors in 2023.

Hong was a team captain in both sports her senior year, which turned out to be a successful one not only individually, but from a team perspective as well. She averaged a career-best 79.65 strokes for 18 holes in 17 rounds. She finished in the top 10 in four tournaments, including the 2022 Hamilton Fall Invitational and the 2022 Middlebury College George Phinney Classic, where she tied for fifth place in both events.

In the winter Hong helped lead Hamilton women’s ice hockey to new heights. The Continentals finished with a 22-6-2 record and advanced to the semifinals of the 2023 NCAA Division III Women's Hockey Championship in their first appearance in the national tournament. Hamilton set team records for most wins in a season (22) and most consecutive victories (8). Hamilton posted a 12-3-1 NESCAC record, recorded its best finish in the conference standings (second), its best seed in the conference championship (No. 2), and played in the NESCAC Championship Game for the first time.

Hong, who graduated in May with a degree in neuroscience, is a medical assistant at McLean Dermatology and Skincare in Virginia.
