Erin Reeves Named Head Coach of Colby Women's Tennis

WATERVILLE, Maine - Colby Athletics is excited to announce Erin Reeves as the next head coach of the women's tennis program, marking the first time in program history that the men's and women's teams will have separate head coaches. Reeves, who has significant experience coaching across all levels of tennis, will assume her role November 1.

"We searched to identify a coach with the experience and leadership qualities to take our program to the next level," said Vice President and Harold Alfond Director of Athletics Mike Wisecup. "We found that in Erin Reeves. Colby College is thrilled to welcome Erin to the department as the new leader of the women's tennis program."

Reeves comes to Mayflower Hill from Medford, Mass. where she held the post of Assistant Women's Tennis Coach at Tufts University.  In three years guiding the Jumbos, Reeves coached two 2022 national champions, multiple athletes to All-American status and was responsible for recruitment operations of the women's program.

After a highly successful playing career at Fairfield University where she led her team to its first ever appearance at the NCAA Division I Tournament, Reeves began her coaching career at her alma mater as the assistant coach of the men's and women's tennis programs.  Following three seasons at Fairfield, Reeves turned her focus to developing younger players through junior circuits, earning Regional High School Coach of the Year honors three times (2009, 2016, 2017) and United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) Regional Pro of the Year in 2014.

"I would like to thank Mike Wisecup, Pat Ratke, Casie Runksmeier and the Colby Athletics administration for entrusting me with this unbelievable opportunity," said Reeves. "It is a very exciting time to be a part of Colby College, as their commitment to academics and athletics is second to none. I am honored to have been selected and will work tirelessly to bring this team to new heights.  I also want to thank my family, friends and former players and coaches for supporting me on this coaching journey!"

With the move to support the men's and women's programs with separate head coaches, Colby becomes the seventh NESCAC institution to make the change. The most recent was Hamilton in 2019. "By supporting each program with a dedicated head coach, we will continue the upward trajectory of both programs and I am confident it will create the conditions for our teams to become perennial champions," said Wisecup.
