WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - The Williams Ephs came back from a three-shot deficit to shoot 316-313 (629) and take the title in the NESCAC Women's Golf Invitational by ten strokes. Middlebury fell to second place with 313-326 (639), while Amherst remained in third place with 317-327 (644).
Amherst first-year Jamie Gracie followed up her 73 from Saturday with another great round of 77 to finish atop the leaderboard. Williams senior Georgiana Salant improved on her first round by four strokes, posting one of the best rounds in the tournament with a round of 74 to finish with a two-day total of 152. Williams first-year Sarah Hasselman battled tougher conditions on Sunday to post the same score as Saturday firing identical rounds of 77 for a 154, which was good for third place.
Taconic Golf Club proved more difficult on Day Two. Though the wind did not play a role until the last few holes, mist and rain throughout the day made the course even wetter than Saturday. The field handled the weather well, adjusting by hitting longer clubs and taking advantage of Sunday's mark, lift, clean, and place ruling.
