HADLEY, Mass. - The NESCAC announced today the 2007-08 Men's Swimming and Diving All-Conference Team. The top three finishers in each event at the 2008 NESCAC Men's Swimming and Diving Championship receive All-Conference recognition.
Williams junior Tyler Bonewell (Burnsville, Minn.) earned Swimmer of the Meet honors this year for the first time in his career. In addition to winning all three breaststroke events during the 2008 NESCAC Men's Swimming and Diving Championships, Bonewell also set three new pool records in the 50, 100, and 200-yard Breaststroke, with his 26.18 time in the 50 preliminaries breaking a NESCAC meet record. Bonewell also helped the Ephs' 200 and 400-yard Medley Relay teams finish first as Williams went on to win the 2008 NESCAC crown. Hamilton senior Todd Johnson (Kingston, Jamaica) was named Four-Year High Point Swimmer. Amherst junior Kai Robinson (Vashon, Wash.) came away with Diver of the Meet, winning both the 1 and 3-meter Dives and setting a new championship standard in the 3-meter with a score of 558.65. Senior teammate Connor Boyd (Northridge, Calif.) was named the Four-Year High Point Diver.
Swimming Coach of the Year honors went to Middlebury's Peter Solomon, as he guided the Panthers to a fourth-place showing at the 2008 NESCAC Swimming and Diving Championships at Middlebury this past weekend. It is the third time that Solomon has won the award in the past decade (2002, 2005). Amherst diving coach Mary Ellen Clark received Diving Coach of the Year accolades.
