Greiner of Middlebury Earns Player of the Year Honor

HARTFORD, Conn. – Sophomore David Greiner of Middlebury earned medalist and conference Player of the Year honors at the 2000 NESCAC Golf Championship. He shot back-to-back rounds of 79 to shoot a 158 total and finish one stroke ahead of three players.

The three players, all sophomores, who finished one shot back all earned All-NESCAC first-team accolades as did 2000 NESCAC Rookie of the Year Ned Wydysh of Williams. Todd Ballaban of Amherst, and Will Sick and Aaron Flink of Williams received first-team honors. It was the second consecutive year that Sick finished second in the championship tournament.

Two players each from Hamilton and Tufts were honored on the all-conference second team. Junior Tyler Leach and senior Matt DiRamio of Hamilton were joined on the second team by sophomores Elliot Barr and Arun Lamba of Tufts. Rounding out the All-NESCAC second team were junior Mike Blaisdell of Amherst and freshman Brad Tufts of Middlebury. DiRamio and Blaisdell were all-conference performers in 1999.

Trinity coach Bill Detrick was named the 2000 NESCAC Golf Coach of the Year.
