Senior Garv Bahl won the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) New England Regional Singles title, while juniors Nico Tremblay and Stavros Mastrogamvrakis picked up the doubles crown for the Tufts men's tennis squad. Middlebury hosted all rounds of the ITA New England Regional.
Bahl becomes the second ITA Champion in the last three seasons for the Jumbos, as Vuk Vuksanovic was also the New England ITA winner back in 2024. Bahl started the day with a thrilling 7-5, 3-6, 6-2 win over Simon Catanzaro of Bowdoin to move into the finals.
In the finals, he played No. 8 seed Noah Lewis from Middlebury and posted his best match of the weekend with a 7-5, 6-0 win to take the crown. With the win, Bahl advances to the prestigious ITA Cup, where he will play for a fall national crown. The ITA Cup is set for October 15-18 at the Rome Tennis Center in Rome, Georgia.
In doubles' play, Mastrogamvrakis and Trembay knocked off teammates Pratt Yerger and Matej Djokic 8-3 in the semifinals to move into the finals. The No. 2 seeded Jumbo crew defeated the top-ranked team of Andreas Sillaste and Lukas Frangenberg from Amherst in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3.
