HARTFORD, Conn. – Trinity College senior men's rower Wyatt Mills has been named the the Intercollegiate Rowing Coaches Association (IRCA) 2026 Division III "The Oarsman" award. Mills becomes the second Bantam to earn this award after Jack Carr was the inaugural recipient in the spring of 2025.

The Oarsman recognizes a student-athlete whose contributions to their program are not only impressive but often unprecedented. While only one crew may win gold, this award honors the individual who elevates their team through tireless dedication, transformative impact, and uncompromising excellence. It celebrates those rare athletes who achieve greatness not only through personal success but also through a lasting commitment to their team, their sport, and the values that define true champions.

To be eligible for "The Oarsman", recipients must be academically qualified rowers from an IRCA member school and in their third or fourth year of collegiate competition.

Mills has enjoyed a decorated rowing career for the Bantams, earning First Team Empacher/IRCA All-America honors in both 2025 and 2026, as well as First Team All-NESCAC recognition in each season. He played a pivotal role in the stroke seat of Trinity's varsity eight, helping lead the Bantams to back-to-back IRA National Championships in 2025 and 2026.
