Siddall Promoted To Director of Rowing At Tufts University

MEDFORD, Mass. – Lily Siddall, who has led the Tufts University women's rowing program to three straight NCAA titles during her tenure as head coach, has been promoted to the Director of Rowing at Tufts University, as announced by Tufts Director of Athletics Ryan Pisarri.

Siddall takes over for the previous Director of Rowing, George Munger, who recently resigned to pursue opportunities outside of collegiate rowing.

"Lily has played an instrumental role in the unprecedented ascent of our women's rowing program, and we're thrilled to promote her as the new Director of Rowing," said Pisarri. "She is an exceptional leader who embodies the values of Tufts Athletics through her commitment to competitive excellence, the student-athlete experience, and the culture she helps foster every day. Lily has earned the respect of our student-athletes, coaches, and alumni, and we're excited to see both rowing programs continue to thrive under her leadership."

"I'm incredibly grateful to serve as the next director of Tufts Rowing," said Siddall. "I'm excited to honor the work of all the athletes and coaches who have come before and keep building on their foundation. Tufts is a great place to row and go to school, and I'm excited for this next chapter. I've enjoyed collaborating with the alumni as well and can't wait to keep building the Tufts Rowing network."

Siddall took over the Tufts women's rowing program as the interim head coach in 2023 when the previous Director of Rowing and women's head coach, Noel Wanner, left for a position at Dartmouth. In that role, Siddall has led the Jumbos to three straight NCAA titles over her three years in charge.

Furthermore, the Jumbos have captured three Collegiate Eights crowns at the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta. Tufts has won the New England Rowing Championships (NERC) and National Intercollegiate Rowing Championships (NIRC) point trophy numerous times under her tenure, and has also been recognized as the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association New England Region and National Coach of the Year.

Siddall had her interim status removed in the summer of 2024. She joined the program back in 2019-20, and has been a part of a Jumbos women's program that has made it the NCAA Championships five straight seasons.

Prior to Tufts, Siddall was an assistant coach at the University of Massachusetts for the women's rowing team. Raised in Belmont, Mass., Siddall graduated from Belmont High School and then from the University of Massachusetts, where she designed her own major in Youth Development and Coaching.

Siddall will remain as the head women's rowing coach in addition to her Director duties, while a replacement for Munger as head men's rowing coach is in progress.
