NESCAC Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week
Eleanor Helm – Tufts – Fy. – A – Loudonville, N.Y.
In a 2-0 week for the Jumbos, Helm tallied six goals and 10 assists for a total of 16 points in wins over Williams and Connecticut College. Helm also added 10 ground balls, including eight against Williams, the highest total for a Jumbos field player since 2017. In the win over the Ephs, first-year attack became the 15th player in program history with double-digit points in a game with 10 against Williams (5G, 5A). Helm scored one goal and assisted on five more against Conn. College on Saturday. Helm leads the Jumbos in points (49) and assists (25).

NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst – Kate Becker (Princeton, N.J.) had 10 points (1G, 9A) in a 1-1 week for the Mammoths. In an 11-7 road win at Colby, the senior scored once and assisted on five other Mammoth goals. In a 9-7 loss to Wesleyan, she registered four assists. Her 37 assists lead the NESCAC and the Mammoths this season. 

Bates – Lauren Wong (Walpole, Mass.) tallied a career-high five goals on Wednesday in a 13-12 overtime win at Bowdoin. She scored the game-tying goal with 4:29 left in regulation and tallied the game-winning overtime goal. The senior followed that up with two goals and an assist in a 12-11 win over Hamilton. 

Bowdoin – Junior Grace Harvey (North Ferrisburgh, Vt.) scored four goals, won nine draws, and had two caused turnovers for the Polar Bears against Bates on Wednesday night.

Colby – Senior Julia Maimonis (Lexington, Mass.) collected three goals and two assists last week, including a thrilling score in overtime in a midweek contest against Endicott to hand the Gulls just their second loss of the season. The midfielder has now scored in each of the last four games. 

Conn. College – Senior midfielder Hannah Merritt (Cheshire, Conn.) led Conn. College in two games last week. At Trinity, Merritt led the Camels with two ground balls and two caused turnovers. Against Tufts, Merritt notched her second goal of the season while forcing a career-high four turnovers. For the week, Merritt notched one goal, two ground balls, and six caused turnovers.

Hamilton – Junior Eliza Schwarz (New York, N.Y.) made 11 saves and added four ground balls and a caused turnover in a 12-11 setback at Bates. Schwarz has recorded double-digit stops in the last three games and five times in 10 starts this spring.

Middlebury – Senior Caroline Messer (Old Greenwich, Conn.) anchored a defensive effort in a matchup against No. 3 Wesleyan. The defender tied her career high with five caused turnovers alongside three ground balls as the top-ranked Panthers grinded out a 5-4 victory over the Cardinals. Messer’s 24 total caused turnovers this season lead the team and sit second in the NESCAC.

Trinity – Junior Kelsey Restivo (Sayville, N.Y.) was a force for the Bantams during a pair of NESCAC victories for the Bantams, tallying 12 points with nine goals and three assists. In a 19-1 win over Conn. College, Restivo registered game-highs of six points and five goals while also contributing an assist. In a 17-5 victory over Bowdoin, Restivo potted a game-high six points with a game-high four goals and two assists with a season-high four ground balls.

Wesleyan – Senior Izzy Weintraub (Oceanside, N.Y.) made six saves in a 9-7 win at Amherst on Wednesday and followed with a season-high 11 saves, allowing just five goals, in a 5-4 defeat at Middlebury. Weintraub and the Cardinal defense held the Panthers to less than 10 goals for the first time since the 2022 NESCAC Championship Game, while the last time Middlebury was held to five goals or fewer was back in 2017.

Williams – Junior Reece Willison (Simsbury, Conn.) scored a hat trick for the No. 20-ranked Williams at No. 2 Tufts on Wednesday in Medford, Mass.
