Jumbos Maintain Two-Shot Lead After Round 2 of NESCAC Men's Golf Championship

EAST HADDAM, Conn. – Tufts maintained its two-shot lead over the field following the second round of the 2026 NESCAC Men’s Golf Championship at Fox Hopyard Golf Club.
 
The Jumbos shaved 10 strokes off their first-round score (298-288-586) and own a two-shot advantage over Williams (300-288-588), which also lowered its team score by 12 strokes.
 
The second-round average score was lowered by nearly three strokes between rounds one and two at the Par-71 course.
 
Tufts rookie Jason Zawtocki shot the low round of the tournament so far with a two-under 69 after shooting a 75 in the opening round. Zawtocki posted four birdies and just two bogeys to move up to a tie for second with teammate Brendan Roy (72-72-144).
 
Williams newcomer Nick Smith fired an even-par 71 in the first round and went one stroke lower in round two with a one-under 70. Smith leads the tournament field by three strokes.

The NESCAC Men’s Golf Championship wraps up on Sunday with the first tee time scheduled for 10:00 a.m.
