NESCAC Track & Field Athletes of the Week - March 24, 2026

Every Tuesday during the outdoor track & field season leading up to the NESCAC Championships, the conference will announce its men’s and women’s athletes of the week.

Men’s Track Athlete of the Week
Levi Biery – Colby – Sr. – Los Angeles, Calif.
Biery finished second in the 400 hurdles at the Emory Spring Classic, posting a time of 52.51, which leads Division III after the first week of outdoor competition.

Men’s Field Athlete of the Week
George Klatsky – Bates – Fy. – Falmouth, Maine
At the Emory Spring Break Classic, Klatsky posted a throw of 68.82 meters (215-11) on his second-to-last attempt to win the javelin event. Klatsky’s throw ranked third in Division III in the first week of the outdoor season. The toss broke the previous Bates post-1984 record of 203-4, set by Tyler Harrington '19 in 2017. Steve Ryan '83 holds the overall Bates record at 230-7, but that throw came prior to the javelin's weight being redistributed forward after the 1984 season, so the implement would drop sooner, thus decreasing the distance on throws.

Women’s Track Athlete of the Week
Simone Waheed – Colby – Jr. – Philadelphia, Pa.
Waheed posted the second-best time in Division III (11.86) and finished sixth (second among Division III athletes) in the 100 meters at the Emory Spring Break Classic.

Women’s Field Athlete of the Week
Ellie Fitzgerald – Williams – Sr. – Montclair, N.J.
In the pole vault, Fitzgerald recorded a height of 3.75 meters (12-3.5) to win the event at the Emory Spring Break Classic. Fitzgerald’s mark ranks second in Division III in the first week of the outdoor season.
