NESCAC Women’s Ice Hockey Player of the Week
Sophia Will – Middlebury – Sr. – G – Lancaster, N.Y.
Will stopped all 23 shots on target, including 19 in the final two periods, in a 1-0 victory over Trinity in the NESCAC Quarterfinals. The Panthers also fended off five Trinity power-play opportunities. The senior became the first player in program history to surpass 500 saves in a season. Will is 41 saves away from the Middlebury record in career stops.
NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst – Sophomore Ayla Abban (Duxbury, Mass.) scored 97 seconds into overtime Saturday, lifting second-seeded Amherst past Bowdoin, 2-1, in a conference quarterfinal game. Abban also assisted on the first Amherst goal, which gave the Mammoths a 1-0 lead early. The game-winning goal was her first goal of the season.
Colby – Rookie
Allie Corrieri (Devens, Mass.) tallied the opening goal and assisted the second minutes later as Colby jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period of Saturday's NESCAC Quarterfinal game against Hamilton. The Mules scored twice in the beginning of the second, extending their lead to 4-0, and two more goals in the third vaulted Colby into the semifinals for the sixth straight season.
Hamilton – Senior
Lilly Truchon (South Burlington, Vt.) and rookie
Lila Snow (Wilmette, Ill.) scored the goals for the Continentals in their 6-2 NESCAC Quarterfinal setback at Colby. Junior
Teagan Brown (Northville, Mich.) made a career-high 39 saves.
Williams –
Chloe Noxon (Wellesley, Mass.) scored two goals and added an assist in a 5-3 victory over sixth-seeded Wesleyan in the NESCAC Quarterfinals. The senior scored a short-handed goal in the second period, assisted on the Ephs' game-winning, power-play goal with 2:30 left in the third, and added an empty-net tally to seal the win.
