The NESCAC boasts three players on the 2026 Trevor Hudgins Award Top 25 Watch List, as announced by Small College Basketball and the National Awards Committee. The Trinity duo of Jarrel Okorougo and Henry Vetter have made the list along with Tufts' Scott Gyimesi.
Trevor Hudgins Award recognizes the top senior player in Small College Basketball, honoring overall career performance, team success, individual achievements, and character. Named in honor of Northwest Missouri State legend Trevor Hudgins, the award celebrates a player's full collegiate body of work. Hudgins led the Bearcats to three consecutive NCAA Division II National Championships and was a two-time NCAA Division II Player of the Year.
Okorougo and Vetter, who were part of Trinity's National Championship team last season, have led the Bantams to an 18-2 overall record (5-2 NESCAC) this season after opening the season with a 17-0 mark. The pair ranks 1-2 in scoring for Trinity with Okorougo leading the team at 15.3 points per game while also collecting a team best 6.2 rebounds per contest. Vetter is averaging 14.2 points per game and handing out 2.4 assists and both players are shooting 48.5 percent from the floor.
Through 20 games this season, Gyimesi has started every contest and leads the team with 15.6 points and 9.6 rebounds per game. Tufts stands at 17-3 overall with a 6-1 conference record and put together a 16-game win streak between November 18 and January 24.
The Trevor Hudgins Award Watch List will be cut to 15 players on March 1 and the finalists will be announced on April 4 with the winner selected on April 6.
