NESCAC Men's Basketball Weekly Release - Jan. 12, 2026

NESCAC Player of the Week
Zach Wolinski – Wesleyan – So. – G – North Andover, Mass.
Wolinski posted a pair of 20+ point games to lead the Cardinals to a pair of double-digit road wins to kick off NESCAC play. Wolinski netted a career-high 26 points on 9-for-15 shooting and 3-of-6 from three to go along with five rebounds and two assists as the Cardinals led 40-15 at halftime against Williams before going on to win 84-71 in Williamstown. The sophomore guard followed with a 22-point effort at Middlebury on 7-for-15 shooting as the Cardinals led by as many as 25 points in the first half before finishing off a convincing 86-62 win over the Panthers in Vermont. 

NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst – K.J. Neville (North Memphis, Tenn.) led the Mammoths to a 71-50 victory over Bates in the conference opener last week, and the lone game for Amherst. The rookie scored a team-high 18 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the floor and 3-of-6 from beyond the arc. Neville also led the Mammoths with eight rebounds, two blocks, and one steal in the victory. 

Bates – Babacar Pouye (Carpinteria, Calif.) netted double figures in scoring in both games over the weekend. The junior tallied 10 points and eight rebounds against Amherst and added a game-high 21 points on 8-for-12 shooting against Hamilton. Pouye also grabbed a team-high seven rebounds against the Continentals. 

Bowdoin – Sophomore Ray Cuevas (Ipswich, Mass.) scored 26 points with seven assists and six rebounds in a win over Conn. College on Saturday. Cuevas also scored 28 points in a loss to Tufts on Friday.

Colby – Dan Civello (South Weymouth, Mass.) averaged 16.5 points as Colby split two games in the opening weekend of NESCAC play.  The sophomore led the Mules in scoring in both games with 18 points in Friday's win over Conn. College and scored 15 points in Saturday's setback against Tufts. Civello also averaged 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 2.0 blocks, and 1.0 steals for the week.

Conn. College – Elias Espinosa (Leonia, N.J.) averaged 16.5 points per game last week and also reached a career milestone, becoming the 21st player in Conn. College men's basketball history to score 1,000 points. The senior passed the mark in his 87th career game with a season-high 23 points at Bowdoin, shooting 7-for-16 from the floor while adding four steals. Espinosa also scored 10 points the previous night at Colby. 

Hamilton – Senior Garret Keyhani (Hillsborough, Calif.) averaged 15.5 points in a 1-1 week for the Continentals. Keyhani scored 15 points in a 74-69 win against Bates and added a season-high 16 points to go along with six rebounds, including five on the offensive glass, in an 84-58 setback at University of Saint Joseph (CT).

Middlebury – In a three-game week for the Panthers, Ian Murray (Kennebunkport, Maine) averaged 14.3 points per game for Middlebury. The Panther opened the week with 11 points on 4-of-8 shooting versus No. 25 WPI. Murray added a team-high 18 points against the defending NCAA Champion and top-ranked Trinity Bantams. The junior closed the three-game slate with 14 points on 4-of-8 shooting versus Wesleyan. Murray has scored 10 or more points in four consecutive games and leads the team in total points (171) and made field goals (59).

Trinity – Henry Vetter (Kenilworth, Ill.) helped lead the top-ranked Bantams to a trio of victories to move to 14-0 on the season, averaging 16.7 points, shooting 61.5 percent from the field, with 4.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 2.3 steals. In a win over Worcester State, Vetter netted 17 points, shooting 6-of-7 from the floor, with three rebounds, three assists, and three steals. The senior added a game-high 20 points with four rebounds and three steals in a win over Middlebury, followed by a 13-point, six-rebound effort in a victory over Williams.

Tufts - Junior Dylan Reilly (Sammamish, Wash.) helped No. 13 Tufts extend its program-record win streak to 13 games, as the Jumbos defeated Bowdoin and Colby on the road. Reilly averaged 20.5 points per game for the two games, including scoring a career-high 27 points against Colby on Saturday. Reilly added 14 points in a win over Bowdoin. For the week, the guard shot 9-for-17 from 3-point land and tied a career high with six made triples Sunday against Colby.

Williams – EJ Sommers (Seattle, Wash.) averaged 13.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks per game in three games last week for the Ephs. The rookie scored a career-high 17 points, going 6-for-10 from the field, 2-for-5 on 3-pointers against No. 1-ranked Trinity. Sommers recorded his first collegiate double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds in a 65-49 win over Springfield and added 10 points against visiting Wesleyan.
