CLINTON, N.Y. – The Trinity men’s squash team won its 19th consecutive NESCAC Championship with an 8-1 win over Tufts at the Little Squash Center on the campus of Hamilton College.
The Bantams opened the day with a 9-0 sweep of No. 5-seeded Colby and closed out the championship with an 8-1 win over the Jumbos.
Seven Bantams posted 3-0 records in the two-day tournament and Benedek Takacs provided the clinching point in the championship match.
Tufts reached the championship game for the third consecutive year. The second-seeded Jumbos defeated No. 3 Williams, 6-3, with Aarav Gill delivering the clinching point at the seven spot on the ladder. Gill defeated his Williams opponent 3-1 (11-8, 9-11, 11-4, 11-9) to help Tufts reach the final. In the championship match, Rohan Bhatia picked up the Jumbos point at the No. 9 spot on the ladder.
