NESCAC Weekly Release - Nov. 2, 2026

The NESCAC has released its Players of the Week for the week ending November 1. The conference recognizes student-athletes for each sport based on their contributions to their team each week, based on information provided by the athletic communications offices on each campus. During the fall season, football, field hockey, men's soccer, women's soccer, and volleyball will be announced on Mondays, while cross country runners of the week and golfers of the week will be announced on Tuesdays when selected.

NESCAC Field Hockey Player of the Week | Weekly Release
Addie Chandler – Middlebury – So. – M – Dover, Colo.
Chandler converted a penalty stroke with 48 seconds left to propel No. 3 Middlebury to a 1-0 triumph over No. 16 Amherst in the NESCAC Quarterfinals. Chandler’s tally was the 12th of the season and the fifth of the game-winning variety, which both rank third in the conference.

NESCAC Football Offensive Player of the Week | Weekly Release
Jack Fabiano – Williams – Fy. – RB – Caldwell, N.J.

Fabiano led Williams to a 34-25 victory over visiting Hamilton on Saturday. Fabiano ran for 257 yards and three touchdowns on 26 carries (9.9-yard average). All three touchdowns and 213 of his yards came in the second half, with his final run being an 83-yard sprint to the house with 36 seconds left, securing the win. His 257 yards are the second-most by an Eph player ever, trailing only the 274 amassed by Sean Rorke ’93 in 1991 against Wesleyan. In addition to his two receptions for a modest 15 yards, he also made a touchdown-saving tackle from behind near midfield on a Hamilton fumble recovery with Williams holding an eight-point lead with five minutes remaining. And on the play before his final scoring scamper, he recovered a fumbled handoff at the Eph 22 that would have given the Continentals a golden opportunity to win the game in the final seconds.

NESCAC Football Defensive Player of the Week
Jacob Tobias – Trinity – So. – LB – Rumson, N.J.

Tobias recorded a career-high 11 tackles, an interception, and a pass break up in Trinity's 26-23 victory at Middlebury. With less than two minutes remaining in the first half, Tobias picked off a pass in the Panthers’ red zone, leading to the Bantams' go-ahead score and a lead they would not relinquish at the end of the half.

NESCAC Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Wyatt Cotton – Williams – Sr. – DB – Edgewater, Md.

Cotton waited until the very end of the game to have an impact on special teams for Williams, but it was crucial to the 35-24 win over Hamilton. Clinging to a two-point lead with 1:49 remaining, the Ephs simply needed to recover an onside kick to essentially clinch the victory. But the kick slipped through the front line and continued downfield to the Williams 22 before Cotton corralled the loose ball. Had the Continentals recovered it at the spot, they would have been in field goal range with a chance to win in the waning seconds.

NESCAC Men’s Soccer Co-Players of the Week | Weekly Release
Finn Hoefer – Amherst – So. – F – New York, N.Y.
Hoefer scored twice in a 2-0 week for the Mammoths. Both goals came as the eighth-seeded Mammoths knocked off top-seeded and No. 1-ranked Middlebury in the NESCAC Quarterfinals. Hoefer scored the opening goal of the game and added the game-winner with 22:17 remaining on a diving header. Hoefer is tied for the team lead in goals with six.

Troy Miller – Hamilton – Jr. – F – Marlborough, Conn.
The Continentals trailed Bowdoin with 15 minutes left in the second half of their NESCAC Quarterfinal in Brunswick, but Miller scored goals in the 76th and 88th minutes and lifted Hamilton into the semifinals for the first time since 2018. Miller's game-winner came on a free kick from about 25 yards out with 2:15 left.

NESCAC Women’s Soccer Player of the Week | Weekly Release
Chloe Lee – Williams – So. – F – Great Falls, Va.
Lee led the No.8-ranked Ephs to a pair of 1-0 wins, scoring both game-winning goals in a 2-0-0 week for Williams. In the NESCAC Quarterfinal, Lee buried the game-winner for the top-seeded Ephs in the 79th minute to beat eighth-seeded Bates, 1-0. Lee also tallied the game-winner in the 33rd minute in a 1-0 triumph at No. 25 Middlebury that secured the top seed in the NESCAC Championship. The Ephs will host the remaining rounds of the NESCAC Championship on Nov. 7-8.
