NESCAC Player of the Week
Taylor Lambo – Hamilton – Sr. – C – Watertown, Mass.
Lambo averaged a double-double and shot 62 percent (13-for-21) from the floor in a 2-1 week for the Continentals. Lambo posted 12 points, 11 rebounds, and two blocks in a 77-54 win over Vassar. In a 59-52 victory over Vermont State University Castleton, the senior collected 14 points and 14 boards. Lambo added 10 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, and two steals in an 86-48 setback against No. 1 New York University. Lambo has 31 career double-doubles.
NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst – Amherst went 3-0 last week as Laura Mendell (Westport, Mass.) averaged 12.6 points per game and totaled 14 rebounds, seven assists, five blocks, and three steals. In a 78-69 double-overtime win over Emerson on Sunday, Mendell scored a career-high 24 points, including eight points in the overtimes, while adding four blocks, three rebounds, two assists, and a steal in the victory. In a 48-46 win over Whittier, Mendell scored 10 points with seven rebounds, three assists, and one steal.
Bates –
Elsa Daulerio (Harpswell, Maine) was named the MVP of the WPI Winter Invitational after she dropped a season-high 22 points on 11-for-19 shooting against Roger Williams and turned in a balanced performance against Hunter. Daulerio averaged 15.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.3 steals, and 3.0 blocks per game for the week. The senior center leads the NESCAC with 2.4 blocked shots per game.
Bowdoin – In three games over break, sophomore
Grace Kinum (New Providence, N.J.) averaged 16.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 3.0 steals while shooting 46 percent from the field for the Polar Bears.
Colby –
Lydia Mordarski (Mansfield, Mass.) averaged 10.0 points across three games for the Mules last week. The senior netted eight points in a win over Albertus Magnus, nine in a setback against Springfield, and collected 13 in a one-point loss to Cortland.
Conn. College –
Mia Xerras (Charlotte, N.C.) netted a season-high 21 points on 7-for-11 shooting in a 59-51 victory over Babson in Conn. College’s only game last week. With the score tied at halftime, the junior poured in 15 points in the second stanza as the Camels clinched their first win over the Beavers since 2017. Xerras shot 4-for-7 from 3-point range and added four rebounds, one assist, and one steal.
Middlebury – Rookie
Islay Moore (Cavan, Ontario) excelled in a 2-1 week for the Panthers. The rookie paced the squad, averaging 15.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game over three contests. On the Panthers’ trip to Washington state, Moore totaled 30 points in two games, highlighted by a career-high 18 and seven rebounds to lead Middlebury to an 81-49 win over Pacific Lutheran. The forward closed out the week with her third career double-double (15 points, 10 rebounds) in a 67-58 come-from-behind win against St. Lawrence. Moore leads the team in scoring (11.3 ppg) and rebounding (6.9 rpg).
Trinity –
Marlo Simms (Decatur, Ga.) averaged a double-double for the No. 17-ranked Bantams, registering 12.3 points and 15.0 rebounds with a 69.2 field goal percentage in a 2-1 week for Trinity. In a 57-42 win at Penn State-Abington, Simms tallied 12 points, 15 rebounds, three assists, a steal, and a block. The junior followed up with a 13-point, 15-rebound effort in a 69-62 setback at No. 5 Johns Hopkins. Simms posted her ninth double-double of the season with 12 points and 15 rebounds in a 58-55 win over Clark.
Tufts –
Tessa Lozner (Morristown, N.J.) posted 16.7 points and 4.0 rebounds per game last week, while shooting 17-for-31 (54.8%) from the field in a 1-2 week for the Jumbos. Lozner started the week with 21 points against Calvin on Monday and followed that up with 13 points and three rebounds in a win over Vassar. Saturday against Skidmore, the rookie netted 16 points with seven rebounds and two steals.
