NESCAC Men’s Swimming & Diving Performer of the Week
Marrich Somridhivej – Bates - Sr. – West Hartford, Conn.
Somridhivej had a meet-to-remember against Middlebury on Sunday. Coming off some heavy training leading into the meet, the senior found a way to swim two lifetime bests. In the 100 freestyle, he posted a time of 45.98, but even more impressively, he touched up in a time of 53.07 in the 100 breaststroke to set a new NESCAC record. Somridhivej was also able to post splits of 24.08 in the 200 medley relay and 20.5 in the 200 freestyle relay.
NESCAC Honor Roll
Bowdoin – Jack Tran (Broomfield, Colo.) put in a strong day of racing against Connecticut College. The senior led off the winning 200 medley relay with a 23.5 split, won the 100 backstroke in a time of 51.8, was second in the 100 freestyle (47.1), and anchored the winning 400 freestyle relay with a split of 46.2.
Colby –
Brandon Xiong (Buffalo Grove, Ill.) won four events last weekend to pace the Mules at Middlebury. The senior won the 50 backstroke (23.38), 50 freestyle (21.28), 100 backstroke (52.02), and led off the winning 200 medley relay.
Williams -
Ryan Nunez (Merrick, N.Y.) delivered an outstanding performance, earning four first-place finishes versus Amherst. The junior anchored the backstroke leg of the 200 medley relay with a strong 23.88 split, setting the tone early for the relay’s victory. Individually, Nunez dominated the distance events by winning the 500 freestyle (4:39.09), the 200 butterfly (1:50.97), and closed the meet by leading off the 400 freestyle relay with a fast 46.46 split that helped propel the relay to another first-place finish.
