NESCAC Player of the Week
Nani Keyes – Trinity – Fy. – F – Guilford, Conn.
Keyes helped power the Bantams' offense, potting a goal in every game and registering four points with three goals and an assist in a 3-0 week, including the team’s first two NESCAC wins of the year on the road at Bowdoin. In a 4-1 win over Albertus Magnus, Keyes logged a goal and an assist. The rookie provided the game-winning goal in a 2-1 victory over the Polar Bears and chipped in an insurance tally in the 3-1 win at Bowdoin in the series finale.
NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst – Senior
Natalie Stott (Franklin, Mass.) stopped all 50 shots she saw last week as the Mammoths went 2-0-0 with back-to-back 4-0 victories over Western New England University and Oswego State. The two shutouts were her fourth and fifth of the season in 10 starts. Stott leads the nation in goals against average (0.49), save percentage (.977), and is tied for the lead in shutouts (5). In the 4-0 win over Oswego, Stott stopped 27 shots, including 14 in the second period, with Amherst protecting a 2-0 lead. The Lakers had three power play opportunities in the period but were denied by Stott.
Bowdoin – Sophomore
Meghan Britt (Arlington, Mass.) scored a goal and an assist in a two-game set against Trinity. Britt leads the Polar Bears with eight goals and seven assists this season.
Colby –
Courtney Schumacher (Winnetka, Ill.) tallied three goals as Colby swept Hamilton in NESCAC action. The senior scored the game-winner in Friday's 3-2 victory and collected a pair of goals in Saturday's 4-1win. Schumacher has eight goals in nine games this season, leading the NESCAC with 0.89 goals per game.
Conn. College - Sophomore defender
Elizabeth Bonner (Westfield, N.J.) had a solid weekend as Conn. College battled No. 4 Middlebury for two games. On Friday, Bonner opened the scoring with a shot from the point, for her first goal of the year, while adding a season-high four blocked shots. On Saturday, Bonner set up junior
Ashley Engle (Basking Ridge, N.J.) for the opening goal of the game, while adding another blocked shot. Bonner finished the weekend with one goal and one assist, six shots, and six blocked shots.
Hamilton –
Carly McMahon (Toledo, Ohio) scored the first goal of the junior defender's Hamilton career in a 3-2 setback at Colby on Friday. McMahon added an assist in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Mules.
Bri Rockwood (Pleasant Valley, N.Y.) scored the Continentals' goal on Saturday, the sophomore's third this season, and has three goals in the last six games.
Middlebury –
Alyssa Frazier (Berlin, Vt.) was a key contributor in a 3-0-0 week for the Panthers. In Friday’s opening doubleheader contest against Connecticut College, the rookie had the primary assist on the squad’s game-tying goal in the third period. Frazier kept the trend going in Saturday’s 4-1 victory over the Camels, scoring her first career goal with less than a minute remaining in the opening period to tie the game at 1-1. And with the game knotted at 2-2 in the third stanza, the defender tallied the primary assist on the game-winning and insurance goal to finish with three points (1G, 2A). Frazier is one of five Panthers to have five or more helpers so far this season.
Williams –
Leah Rubinshteyn (Summit, N.J.) totaled two goals and three assists in a 3-0 week for the Ephs. The senior finished with a power-play goal and an assist in a 4-0 victory at Utica. The forward scored the game-winning goal in the second period and assisted on a third-period goal in a 4-1 triumph against Little Three-rival Wesleyan on Friday and assisted a first-period goal in a 6-2 win over the Cardinals to complete the sweep on Saturday.
