NESCAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week
Fiona Linnau - Middlebury - So. - Midfield - Seattle, Wash.
In her first action of the year, Linnau played a crucial role in Middlebury's undefeated weekend. On Saturday, the sophomore scored the only goal of the match late in the second half, securing a 1-0 victory over Conn. College with a shot into the bottom right corner. The following day, Linnau struck again, this time delivering the game-winner with a header into the upper right 90 to lift Middlebury to a 2-1 win against a ranked Wesleyan squad. Both goals marked the first of Linnau’s career.
NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst –
Sophia Haynes (Los Angeles, Calif.) scored twice in a 2-0-1 week for the Mammoths. In a 2-0 win over Bates, the senior netted the game-winning goal in the first half and against Colby, scored the only Amherst goal in a 1-1 tie. The tallies were Haynes’ first two of the 2025 season and she ranks third on the team with five points (2G, 1A).
Bates –
Gwyn Jamison (Steamboat Springs, Colo.) dished out an assist on the first goal Bates scored last Tuesday at the University of New England. The sophomore also tallied a clutch goal in the 85th minute to secure a 2-2 draw for Bates against the Nor'easters. Jamison ranks second on the team in scoring with six points (2G, 2A).
Bowdoin - Senior
Stephanie Christianson (Annandale, Va.) assisted on both Polar Bear goals in a 2-0 win over Husson last week.
Colby -
Jane Maguire (South Hamilton, Mass.) picked a great time to tally her first goal of the season. The senior's scoring strike in the 67th minute at Amherst on Sunday knotted the score at 1-1 in an eventual draw. The Mules also played to a 1-1 tie at Williams last weekend.
Conn. College - Sophomore goalkeeper
Maia Kafer (Philadelphia, Pa.) started the only game of the week for the Camels. On Saturday against No. 10 Middlebury, Kafer did everything she could to help Conn. College pull the upset, finishing the contest with seven saves, while facing 15 shots, in a 1-0 setback.
Hamilton – Sophomore
Isabel Harvey (Rye, N.Y.) scored in the 47th and 70th minutes in the Continentals' 2-0 victory against Bowdoin. The multi-goal match was the second of Harvey's Hamilton career.
Trinity – Sophomore
Lily Bracken (Dallas, Texas) stopped a career-high 13 shots during a loss at No. 21 Wesleyan, and delivered a shutout performance with three saves against No. 11 Brandeis.
Tufts - Goalkeeper
Gigi Edwards (Menlo Park, Calif.) had a solid game in a scoreless draw Saturday against Wesleyan. Edwards made six saves to keep Wesleyan off the board, as the junior posted her third shutout of the season. Edwards has allowed only two goals all season and none in her last 185:55 of game action.
Williams -
Lucy Carrel (Bellevue, Wash.) led the No. 13-ranked Williams squad to a 1-0-1 NESCAC weekend. The rookie scored in the second minute in a 1-1 tie with Colby on Saturday and opened the scoring again with a tally in the 19th minute in a 2-1 triumph over Bowdoin on Sunday.
