Every Monday during the season, one NESCAC Player of the Week will be selected based on information submitted by the athletic communications offices at member institutions.
NESCAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week
Caroline Kelly – Tufts – Sr. – Midfield – Southborough, Mass.
Kelly helped Tufts remain undefeated, as the Jumbos went 3-0 last week. Kelly posted the game-winning goal on Tuesday in a 2-1 win over Gordon and added an assist on the game-winning goal in a 2-1 win over Hamilton College. On Sunday, the senior converted a penalty kick in a 4-0 win over Connecticut College. Kelly leads the team with 11 points and the NESCAC with seven assists.
NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst – Senior
Lulu Fickes (Denver, Colo.) posted a pair of shutouts, stopping all five shots she saw in a 1-0-1 week for the Mammoths as they defeated Emerson, 2-0, and tied Middlebury, 0-0. Two of her saves versus the Panthers came in the second half.
Bates – Junior
Sydney Litney (Schaumburg, Ill.) made a career-high seven saves and recorded her second straight shutout as Bates played No. 14 nationally ranked Wesleyan to a 0-0 draw on Saturday.
Bowdoin - Sophomore
Kayley Huleatt (Rifton, N.Y.) had two goals and two assists in a Tuesday win over the University of Southern Maine.
Colby – Junior
Annie Liebich’s (Boise, Idaho) first goal of the season, early in the second half to give the Mules a 1-0 lead, proved to be the game-winner in a 2-0 victory over Conn. College. After a scoreless opening half, Liebich and the rest of the Colby squad carried possession throughout the second half and held an edge in corners, 9-0, and shots, 15-1.
Connecticut College – Sophomore
Maia Kafer (Philadelphia, Pa.) started both games in net for the Camels last week. On Saturday, Kafer stopped six shots as Conn. College hung tough with Colby. Kafer followed that up with another six saves against Tufts on Sunday.
Hamilton –
Lila Sullivan (Charlestown, Mass.) recorded an assist for the rookie’s first career point with the Continentals in a 2-2 tie at Babson.
Olivia Connolly (Washington, D.C.) posted the junior's second career shutout in a 1-0 win at Utica.
Middlebury –
Kacy Walker (San Rafael, Calif.) excelled in a 1-0-1 week for Middlebury. In a 2-1 victory over Union, the rookie netted the game-tying goal in the 35th minute off a corner kick. Walker was not done in the contest, as the defender tapped in her second of the game early in the second half to seal the one-goal victory and extend the program’s unbeaten streak at home to 13 straight contests. In a 0-0 tie with Amherst, Walker logged her third career start and played 70 minutes.
Williams – Goalkeeper
Margaret Huelin (Farmington, Conn.) No. 18-ranked Williams earned two shutouts in a 1-0-1 weekend for the Ephs. The senior made three saves in a 2-0 triumph over visiting Trinity on Saturday and four stops in a 0-0 draw at Clark on Sunday.
