Middlebury baseball player Kyle McCausland has been recognized as a College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America award for the third time in his career. He becomes just the second Panther to garner a trio of CSC national laurels, joining Erin Nicholas '22 of the field hockey and women's lacrosse programs. The outfielder capped his time in the navy and white jersey with his name sprinkled throughout the program's record book.
McCausland is the 32nd NESCAC baseball player to earn Academic All-America honors and the 401st student-athlete from the conference to garner the accolade.
McCausland graduated with a degree in economics and boasted a 3.88 GPA and is the first baseball player to earn the prestigious award on three occasions. He excelled in his final season, leading the team with 52 hits and 48 RBI en route to being voted NESCAC Player of the Year for the second time. McCausland also earned All-American Second Team praises from the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and was named the Region 1 Player of the Year by D3baseball.com and the ABCA.
A first-team all-conference selection, he paced the NESCAC with 13 home runs and 108 total bases. The outfielder graduated as the program's all-time leader in hits (202), runs scored (156), doubles (45), and homers (41) and helped the Panthers win back-to-back NESCAC Championships in 2024 and 2025.
