Kristyn Carroll Named CSC Softball Academic All-America Honoree

Middlebury softball player Kristyn Carroll was tabbed to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Third Team. The Panther joins Noelle Ruschil '22 as the second player in program history to receive the honor.

Carroll, an earth and climate sciences major owns a 3.78 GPA and was a CSC Academic All-District selection for the second year in a row. The Panther earned her third consecutive All-NESCAC and National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region First Team accolades in 2025.

Carroll was dominant in her third season, becoming the program's single-season record holder with 61 hits and 46 runs scored over 39 contests. The outfielder paced the NESCAC in on-base percentage (.580), batting average (.496) and walks (24). Carroll reached base safely in 36 of 39 games and had 26 multi-hit contests. The Kinnelon, N.J. native vaulted to the top of the program record books in career walks, passing Kimber Sable '14 with 66 in her career. The junior has been a workhorse for Middlebury, with a .477 career batting average with 163 hits and 129 runs scored over 109 consecutive starts. She also holds the program mark with 65 career stolen bases.

Carroll, who is the 400th NESCAC student-athlete to garner CSC Academic All-America honors, helped the Panthers to 24 victories this season, their most since the 2013 campaign.

To be nominated, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at her current institution. Field players must have appeared in at least 90 percent of the team's games or have started at least 66 percent of the games. For pitchers, a student-athlete must have made at least 17 appearances or pitched 35 innings.
