Bowdoin's Anika Ewert and Sophia DiCocco of Tufts earned NCAA Division III Rawlings Gold Glove Awards. Presented by the NFCA, the award recognizes the best defensive players in the nation at each position.
Ewert, a centerfielder, was the NESCAC Defensive Player of the Year and an All-NESCAC First Team selection. The junior was second in the conference in batting average (.490), second in on base percentage (.523), and first in both runs scored (46) and hits (71). In 148 plate appearances, Ewert did not strike out once and again led the league in stolen bases with 36. Defensively, Ewert did not commit an error in 80 chances. She registered 71 putouts and nine assists for the Polar Bears who advanced to the semifinals of the NESCAC Championship as the No. 7 seed.
DiCocco earned her third Gold Glove awards at the pitcher position. She ranked 15th nationally among all position players with 2.79 assists per game. In 28 games for the Jumbos this spring she had 78 assists, second in the NESCAC, and had eight putouts. For her career (2021-25), the graduate student had 313 assists in 134 games for a 2.34 average. With DiCocco's defense and pitching (17-7, 2.50 era) in the circle, Tufts won the NESCAC Championship and earned the team's seventh consecutive NCAA berth. The Jumbos finished the season with a 29-15 record.
