Bowdoin's Renoff Named WGCA All-American & NESCAC Boasts Six All-Region Golfers

Bowdoin College first-year Emily Renoff is the first All-American in Polar Bear women's golf history in awards handed out by the Women's Golf Coaches Association on Wednesday evening at the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship at Kingmill Resort in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Renoff, who just wrapped up her season by becoming the first Bowdoin golfer to appear in the NCAA Division III Championship, was named a Second Team All-American and a member of the WGCA All-Freshman Team.

She entered NCAA play ranked 16th in the nation following a season that included two individual wins (The Ruckus and Williams Fall Invitational) and an adjusted scoring average of 72.9 this year. At the Williams Invitational in September, Renoff set a Bowdoin single-round record (68) and 36-hole record (139).

At NCAA's this week, Renoff battled through tough playing conditions in round one to finish 83-78-161, missing the cut. It was a historic appearance for the first-year, who became the first Polar Bears golfer – men's or women's – to qualify for an NCAA Championship.

Renoff joined other golfers from the NESCAC who garnered WGCA All-Region honors:
