NESCAC Co-Players of the Week
Jack Fried – Hamilton – Sr. – G – Larchmont, N.Y.
Fried made 13 saves, including five in the fourth quarter, in a 12-11 win against Connecticut College that clinched a spot in the NESCAC Tournament. Fried's last save with 4.5 seconds left came on a low shot that would have tied the score and sent the game to overtime. The senior added two stops and allowed two goals in 21-plus minutes of a 21-6 victory at SUNY Oneonta. Fried moved into fifth place on the team's all-time list with 485 career saves.
NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst – Senior
Mitch Likins (Enciniti, Calif.) made a career-high 22 saves in a loss to top-ranked Tufts last week and finished the week with 32 saves in a pair of matchups against top 10 teams.
Bowdoin – Sophomore
Casey Ryan (San Diego, Calif.) had five assists and a goal to spearhead the Polar Bears' offense to a 14-10 win over Wesleyan on Saturday.
Colby –
Easton Bello (Glenview, Ill.) tallied four goals in Saturday's showdown against Williams. The sophomore’s first two goals helped Colby post a 3-0 lead early in the first quarter, and Bello’s final two goals late in the fourth kept the Mules within striking distance in the final minutes.
Conn. College –
Liam Horkan (Malden, Mass.) led the Camels in scoring last week with 12 goals over two games. The junior netted a career-high eight goals in a road win over Coast Guard, a flurry that also included his 100th career point in his 39th career game. Horkan added a game-high four goals in a 12-11 setback at Hamilton over the weekend.
Middlebury –
Will Ford (Denver, Colo.) tallied three goals and an assist to propel the Panthers to a vital 13-9 victory over Trinity. The sophomore scored his hat trick in the first half alongside a .600 shooting percentage and a career-high two caused turnovers in the triumph. In nine contests this season, Ford has already matched his career-high in goals with 13.
Trinity – Rookie
Miles Harvey (Glen Allen, Va.) paced the Bantams’ offense with a team-high three goals and three points in a 13-9 loss to Middlebury.
Tufts – Senior defender
Michael Ayers (Hamilton, Mass.) was key in helping shut down a pair of top-scoring offenses last week, as the Jumbos stayed unbeaten with wins over ranked teams Babson and Amherst. Ayers caused four turnovers and picked up six ground balls in two games. Against Babson on Tuesday, Ayers finished with a goal, two grounders, and a caused turnover. He added four ground balls and three caused turnovers against Amherst.
Wesleyan -
Jack Raba (Cheshire, Conn.) piled up the points for the Cardinals in two games last week as the NESCAC's leader in assists dished out 11 assists in the two games combined, totaling six assists in a 17-5 win over Springfield before assisting on half of Wesleyan's goals in a 14-10 loss at Bowdoin on Saturday. He added one goal against Springfield and scored twice against the Polar Bears, giving him 14 points in the two-game week for Wesleyan.
Williams –
Will Doran (Princeton, N.J.) totaled three goals, 11 assists, and 14 points in a 2-0 week for the Ephs. The junior tallied career-highs of eight assists and nine points, to go along with one goal, during a 20-9 triumph over MIT on Tuesday and compiled five points (2G, 3A) in a 15-13 win at Colby on Saturday.
