Six NESCAC Women's Soccer Player Named All-Americans by United Soccer Coaches

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The United Soccer Coaches announced the 2025 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer All-Americans which included six players from the NESCAC: Molly Brumbach (Wesleyan), Elsi Aires (Tufts), Ella Johnson (Amherst), Reese Birch (Tufts), Kyra Hacker (Bowdoin), and Elizabeth Stophel (Williams).

Brumbach is the first Wesleyan player to be named an two-time All-American. The senior also earned her second career All-Region selection as the top goalkeeper in Region I and was an All-NESCAC First Team selection for the third straight season. The Cardinals made a fifth-straight trip to the NCAA Tournament, it was Brumbach in goal that helped lead the Cardinals to the at-large bid. The Cardinals ran a 9-5-4 overall campaign en route to the Second Round of their national appearance, running 4-3-3 record in the NESCAC. Starting in 17 games, Brumbach finished her senior season with an 8-5-4 record, securing eight shutouts including a scoreless draw with Tufts during the regular season. Brumbach made a career high 80 total saves with a .879 save percentage and allowed 11 goals for a 0.68 goals against average in 2025. The senior posted two nine-save games this season against Williams and Tufts. Brumbach finished the season ranked top five in all statistical goalkeeping categories including second in shutouts (8), second in saves per game (4.71), fourth in goals against (.68), and fourth in saves (.879).

Aires, who is the first-ever two-time NESCAC Player of the Year, has 11 goals, including four game-winners, and five assists on the season. Aires, who has played in 81 career games, is second all-time in goals (41) and points (97) at Tufts. This is third straight All-America citation. The Jumbos advanced to the NCAA Final Four for the second team in three years and fourth time in team history. Tufts will face Emory in the national semifinal game on December 4.

Johnson earned All-NESCAC and All-Region First Team honors after what was arguably her best season as a Mammoth. The stalwart defender played all 90 minutes in all but two games, and contributed on the offensive side of the ball with an assist against Bates on Sept. 27. Her defensive presence was felt across the backline, beginning the season as an consistent threat at the outside back spot before moving into the center back position later in the year. She led a Mammoth backline that allowed just 13 goals in 18 games and recorded eight shutouts.

Birch had a breakout season for the Jumbos with a team-high 29 points, scoring 11 goals while handing out seven assists for 29 points. Birch has one game-winning goal, but had an eight-game points streak including posting six goals during that stretch. Birch was an All-NESCAC First Team honoree.

Hacker was an All-NESCAC Second Team selection. The senior scored six goals to rank second on the team. Hacker was timely with her tallies as she had two game-winners for the Polar Bears. Bowdoin's defense allowed just 1.31 goals per game and a .533 shots on goal percentage.

After finishing with six goals, nine assists, 21 points and three game-winning goals Stophel garnered All-America honors. The sophomore helped power Williams to the NESCAC Championship and the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Stophel ranked in a tie for first in the conference in assists (9), fifth in points (21) and game-winning tallies (3), and eighth in goals (6). The Chattanooga, Tennessee, native was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region I First Team and collected NESCAC All-Conference First Team laurels.

This year’s All-Americans will be recognized for their accomplishments at the United Soccer Coaches All-America Ceremony on Saturday, January 17, 2026 in Philadelphia, Pa., in conjunction with the United Soccer Coaches Convention.
