NESCAC NCAA Tournament Updates

Three NESCAC teams are still in action in three NCAA Tournaments. The Colby volleyball squad advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals with a thrilling five-set win over NESCAC foe Wesleyan while the Tufts men's and women's soccer teams head to Salem, Virginia for the NCAA Men's and Women's Soccer Final Fours.

The NCAA Soccer Tournament games can be watched for free via ncaa.com/champs-pass and the NCAA Championships Pass app, available on smart TVs. The remaining NCAA Volleyball Tournament matches will be broadcast on ESPN+ which requires a subscription (more info).
 
Cross Country
A conference record 12 teams and eight individuals from the NESCAC competed in the 2025 NCAA Division III Men’s & Women’s Cross Country Championships in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Middlebury junior Audrey MacLean won the women's individual title in dominating fashion. MacLean posted the sixth fastest time in championship history (20:16.8) which was 48 seconds faster than the rest of the field of 290 runners. MacLean, the NESCAC Champion, is the fourth NESCAC runner to win the NCAA women's title and the first since 2011. The Williams women combined for 106 points and placed six runners in the top 40 to claim second place in the team standings.

NESCAC Champion Tufts paced the conference contingent in the men's race. The Jumbos placed two runners in the top 40, led by Cullen McCaleb who was the top individual runner in the conference. McCaleb finished 21st overall with a time of 24:27.7 to lead Tufts to a seventh place finish, its best in the championship since 2012.
 
Field Hockey | NCAA Bracket
Tufts won its second NCAA title with a 2-1 overtime win over Johns Hopkins in the national championship game. Senior Hannah Biccard deflected in the game-winning goal one minute into overtime. The Jumbos' victory marked the 15th time and eighth consecutive year a NESCAC team has won the NCAA Division III Field Hockey title.

Men’s Soccer | NCAA Bracket
Of the seven men's soccer teams to qualify for the NCAA Tournament, Tufts, the NESCAC Champion, advanced to the Final Four with a 2-1 win over fellow conference member Bowdoin. The Jumbos will play St. Olaf, a 2-1 winner versus Williams, in the national semifinal game on December 5 at 3 p.m. in Salem, Virginia at Roanoke College. The Jumbos are making their fifth appearance in the Final Four. Tufts has won four NCAA titles.

Women’s Soccer | NCAA Bracket
Tufts is the lone remaining team of the six NESCAC squads to qualify for the NCAA Tournament. The Jumbos booked their spot in the Final Four thanks to junior Waverly Sumner's overtime goal in a 1-0 victory over NESCAC rival Middlebury. Tufts will play in the national semifinal for the fourth time in program history and returns to the Final Four fro the second time in three seasons. The Jumbos will play Emory on December 4 in Salem, Virginia at Roanoke College at 6:30 p.m.

Volleyball | NCAA Bracket
For the first time since 2005, Colby is back in the NCAA Quarterfinals following a 3-2 win at Wesleyan to win the regional. The Mules are the first NESCAC team to reach the quarterfinals since the 2021 campaign. The eight remaining teams were re-seeded for the quarterfinals and the Mules are the No. 3 seed. Colby will face No. 6-seeded Trinity (TX) on December 3 at 12:30 p.m. (ET). Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois is hosting the remaining rounds of the tournament.
