NESCAC Women's Cross Country Awards Released

HADLEY, Mass. – Audrey MacLean of Middlebury is the NESCAC Most Outstanding Performer following the 2025 NESCAC Cross Country Championships hosted by Conn. College on November 1. The annual honor is given to the individual who finished first at the conference championship.

MacLean won her second straight NESCAC title, covering the 6K course in a winning time of 20:47.8 (tying for the third best time in course history), which was 18 seconds faster than the field. MacLean is the first women’s runner to win back-to-back titles and the NESCAC Most Outstanding Performer honor since Colby’s Sophia Gorman in 2018 and 2019. The junior’s back-to-back wins mark just the seventh time since 1976 a runner has achieved the feat in the women’s championship. MacLean, the 2023 NESCAC Rookie of the Year, also earned a spot on the All-NESCAC First Team for the third year in a row.

Fellow Panther Claire Palmer of Middlebury was honored as the NESCAC Women's Rookie of the Year. Palmer finished third with a time of 21:06.9 and also earned All-NESCAC First Team honors. Palmer is the second Panther in three seasons to garner the NESCAC Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Year honor.

The Williams women's coaching staff (Dusty Lopez, Stephanie Mauer, Mike Blair, and Barb Grossov) was voted as the Coaching Staff of the Year by their peers for the third year in a row after leading the Ephs' the NESCAC title for the sixth straight season and 22nd time overall.
