Middlebury's MacLean Wins NCAA Cross Country Title; Ephs Finish National Runner-Up

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Middlebury junior Audrey MacLean won the women’s individual title in dominating fashion and the Williams Ephs placed second overall at the NCAA Division III Championship held at the Roger Milliken Cross Country Course in Spartanburg, S.C. on Saturday, November 22.

MacLean posted the sixth fastest 6K time in championship history at 20:16.8 which was 48 seconds better than the rest of the field of 290 runners. MacLean, the NESCAC Champion, is the fourth NESCAC runner to win the women’s title and the first since 2011. 

Williams finished as the national runner-up as the Ephs placed six runners in the top 40 and combined for 106 points. NYU claimed its first national title in program history with 79 points as four Violets finished in the top 10.
