NESCAC Player of the Week
Kate Olenik – Colby – Jr. – G – Medfield, Mass.
Olenik had identical stat lines of 22 points, five rebounds, and three assists while shooting 72 percent (18-for-25) from the floor in two victories last week. The Mules are off to a 4-0 start for the first time since going 6-0 in 2021-22.
NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst –
Chase Anderson (Concord, Mass.) posted her first collegiate double-double in her second career game, a 74-47 win over Bridgewater State last week. The rookie scored 16 points and added 10 rebounds in the win, along with four assists, two steals, and two blocks. Andreson shot 6-of-11 (54.5%) from the floor and 75 percent (3-for-4) from the foul line.
Bates –
Elsa Daulerio (Harpswell, Maine) started last week with an efficient performance in a 98-50 win over Husson, scoring 10 points on 5-for-6 shooting, grabbing four rebounds, dishing out four assists, and blocking a shot in a game that saw Bates score its most points in a single game since the 2013-14 season. The senior followed up with a season-high 13 points on 6-for-12 shooting and nine rebounds in a 56-44 win over Endicott. Daulerio blocked two shots in the victory over the Gulls. Daulerio begins the week 15 points away from 1,000 in her career. The No. 12 nationally ranked Bobcats are off to a 3-0 start for the second time in the past three years.
Bowdoin – Junior
Abbie Quinn (Bangor, Maine) scored 17 points and grabbed six rebounds on 7-12 shooting from the field in a 68-46 win at Skidmore on Saturday.
Conn. College –
Sofia Tavarez (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) averaged 18.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.5 steals per game last week as the Camels went 1-1 at the Hampton Inn Holiday Classic. The guard netted a game-high 20 points and added five boards, three steals, and two assists in a 62-48 win over St. Lawrence in the opening round, becoming the first Camel since 2020 to record back-to-back 20-point games. In the title game against Western New England, the rookie led all scorers with 17 points on 7-for-12 shooting and handed out four assists in a 65-62 setback. For her efforts, Tavarez was named to the all-tournament team.
Hamilton –
Taylor Lambo (Watertown, Mass.) averaged 12.3 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 2.0 steals, and 1.3 blocked shots in a 2-1 week for the Continentals. Lambo filled the stat sheet with 10 boards, seven points, six assists, and three blocked shots in an 88-64 win against SUNY Brockport. The senior chipped in 14 points, nine rebounds, and three assists in a 75-23 victory against Hartwick in the Oneonta & Hartwick Classic. Lambo contributed 16 points and eight caroms and tied a career high with four steals in a 59-52 setback at SUNY Oneonta and was named to the all-tournament team. The forward was 16-of-32 from the floor for the week.
Middlebury –
Sarah Chenette (Cohasset, Mass.) continued her strong start to the 2025-26 season, averaging 16.5 points over two games to help Middlebury to a 1-1 mark. The guard tied for the team lead with 15 points in just 17 minutes of action to guide the Panthers to an 80-36 triumph over Norwich. Chenette also shot a season-high 66.7 percent from the field (6-of-9) against the Cadets. The sophomore finished the two-game week by pacing the Panthers with 18 in an 82-75 setback against Union. Through four contests, Chenette leads the squad, averaging 15.3 points per game.
Trinity – Junior
Marlo Simms (Decatur, Ga.) averaged a double-double for the Bantams in a pair of victories, posting 15.0 points and 14.5 rebounds per game. Simms has recorded four straight double-doubles to open the season, continuing her streak with a career-high 18 points and 14 rebounds in a win over Skidmore. Simms added 12 points and a game-high 15 rebounds as the Bantams took down Western Connecticut, 57-40.
Tufts – First-year
Tessa Lozner (Morristown, N.J.) tallied 15.7 points per game last week for the 2-1 Jumbos. The newcomer poured in 18 points in a win at Babson, adding three rebounds and two steals. The guard netted a career-high 21 points along with five steals and three assists in road win at Roger Williams and added eight points and eight rebounds at No. 2-ranked Scranton.
Williams –
Kathleen Smith (Plaistow, N.H.) averaged 13.7 points and 12.3 rebounds per game during a 2-1 week for the Ephs. The junior was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Morin Memorial Tournament, which the Ephs won. In a 74-47 win over Plattsburgh State in the championship game, Smith finished with career highs of 19 points and 19 rebounds. The forward posted 12 points and nine boards during a 62-38 win over Saint Joseph (Conn.) in the first round. The junior also totaled 10 points and nine boards in a mid-week game at RPI.
