NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The inaugural Walter Camp Football Foundation Division III All-America Team features three NESCAC players. Hamilton punter Tighe Hoey, Middlebury offensive lineman Thomas Perry, and Tufts cornerback Ty Richardson were recognized.
The Walter Camp All-American Team, which consisted of just one team of 11 offensive players and 11 defensive players along with specialists, was picked for the first time in 2025.
Hoey earns his second All-America honor this season after being selected for the 2024 American Football Coaches Association Division III All-America Team, becoming the first Hamilton football player honored on the coaches All-America team since running back Eric Grey '93 in 1991.
Hoey ranked third in NCAA Division III with an average of 44.1 yards per punt. The senior finished the season with 2,295 yards on 52 punts, 16 of which traveled 50 or more yards with a long of 70. Hoey placed 18 punts inside the opponents' 20-yard line and six went for touchbacks.
Hoey is a three-time member of the All-NESCAC team. He was on the 2023 D3football.com all-region team and the 2024 D3football.com Preseason All-America Team. Hoey also played defensive back for the Continentals in 2024 and was credited with 29 tackles, a forced fumble, and two pass breakups in nine games.
Perry earned his third All-America nod. He also earned first-team honors from the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) and a spot on the D3football.com Fourth-Team Offense
A three-time All-NESCAC First-Team performer, Perry started all nine contests, anchoring an offensive line that gave up the third-fewest sacks in the conference (14) and racked up 3,193 yards of total offense.
He was the lone Division III offensive lineman tabbed to the initial Reese's Senior Bowl Watchlist and is the only Division III player invited to the 2025 East-West Shrine Bowl scheduled for Thursday, January 30, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Perry was also excelled in the classroom, earning three NESCAC All-Academic awards and been a College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District selection each of the last two seasons.
Richardson was the only sophomore selected for the team and this honor marks his third Division III All-America award. He was also honored as an AP All-American and an American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) All-American.
Richardson finished the 2024 season with a NESCAC leading six interceptions, totaling 116 return yards as well. The Jumbos won every game in which Richardson had an interception and he also added 28 tackles and four more pass break-ups.
The defensive back was named All-NESCAC First Team after helping the Tufts defense post the second best passing defense in the league, allowing only 177.3 yards per game. Tufts scoring defense was third in the NESCAC.
